These use to be a dime a dozen in Canada. Probably hundreds imported all for $5-$8k with 100k km's. Still can find lots used around but most of them have 200k+ km's. They are a nightmare to work on with the complicated twin turbos with a million vacuum lines so they don't hold much value unless single turbo swapped. They are tanks in the snow though and a lot of fun.

Good to see another Legacy back on the channel :) I had one of these - a 2001. It was my pride and joy. When I was purchasing the car I came across your channel and follow you ever since. :) Someone crashed into me last year and it was totaled :( Now I'm importing a 2005 Legacy GT Spec. B, it's on the boat as we speak

Probably my absolute favorite wagon of all time. I know the twin turbo setup is problematic but there's nothing like that classic JDM rumble.

I had a 99 GTB in white as well. It was the cheapest car I have imported (out of the 8 so far). Was a great car. A real tank in the snow. The turbo changeover "valley of death" can be reduced with a twin turbo controller (i forget the manufacturer now).

Zero Sports is the company that makes the turbo controller

Yes! That's it! Thanks for jogging my memory. I still have a complete harness to that controller, if the new owner sees this and wants it

I have a 2003 version of this, Stupendously fast car. Mine has an STI tune to 300hp. I managed to do the RHD to LHD conversion as RHD cars are illegal in my country. Its a lovely car. Ill never sell it

How is the steering column situation, I have swapped a twin turbo in mine and had to convert it to rhd, wich is illegal where i live too, curious to see how it was done

@@jooj240 I was stumped for a while but came up with a solution that repositioned the Primary turbo slightly. Still in the same general location but with the inlet port angled towards the brake master and avoiding the steering input shaft. i now rejigged the air inlet hose to pass in-between the LH inlet ports and meet up with the new location of the primary turbo. It worked for me. Im more surprised that you installed a twin turbo given that it needs a different ECU and the vacuum solenoid box missing on the single turbo cars. That seems like a monumental task

@@Nyjawonder it really was a monumental task, the only wiring that remained the same was stuff like interior lights and the rear doors, my donor was a 02 rev D wagon and I fitted everything on a 01 gl sedan, it was worth it to me lol love my car now, but since I was going to take everything out, was quite easy to make it RHD
