VJ Day - A Day to Remember

Listen to first-hand accounts of VJ Day from servicemen and civilians from the archives of the National Museum of the Pacific War. The term VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day) has been applied to both the days on which the initial announcement of Japan's surrender was made - August 15, 1945 in Japan and August 14, 1945 in the U.S. and September 2, 1945, the day that Japan signed the official surrender documents which officially ended WWII.
