Wow I wasn't expecting a call back to the original book like that, "The illusion of risk not actual risk" was one of the explanations Hammond gave to Dr Malcom in the book. Now if only they could just remake the Jurassic Park franchise back into horror thriller gorefest of a cautionary tale of natural selection it was always meant to be. I get That the writer was overjoyed that the movie was more family oriented but that is not what made the books so great. What made the book so great was that it portrayed exactly why humanity will never be able to contain nature let alone control it in a way that the movie franchise just couldn't manage. The futility of human arrogance and hubris in regards to control vs nature is one of those subjects that just can't be properly explained let alone demonstrated by minimalizing the more violent and gory aspects of this particular subject. And it can't be properly explained in a more family friendly environment. It must be explained and demonstrated in a manner that is devoid of empathy or remorse because nature is in of itself a force that is devoid of empathy or remorse. And that is the concept that so many people seem to forget.

KZbinrs might not have returned to the campaign in JWE, but really that was the most structure the game had. Sandbox and challenge mode just didn’t have enough going on (dino behaviour and customisation of the park and habitats) to make it very compelling to come back to the game. I’m really surprised the campaign in this one is a glorified tutorial and gameplay elements we’ve already seen loads. What makes this a sequel and not just an expansion pack for JWE?
@GothPlatypus3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it really just feels like a glorified update to the first game. Doesn't really seem that different or fun to play. Gonna wait for Prehistoric Kingdom myself and skip this one 🤷♀️
@jacobely68263 жыл бұрын
yeah i agree... kind of. I really enjoyed the structure of the first game, the fact that you would progress through the islands, earning special rewards for reaching max rating on each island. it gave an overarching goal which i think is important, i mean there are certainly people who can just play a sandbox mod make a full park etc but i find if i have no goals, no progression i quickly lose interest. but where jwe 2 saves it for me is in its challenge modes, and its chaos theory. These two parts of the game play very similarly to the 5 islands in jwe 1. Whilst there's not as much overall progression and its much more do this and then you can do it again in a different setting i find that to be just enough to keep me enthralled in the game mechanics. and yes this game is largely just more of jurassic world evolution, but i think they added a vast amount to this to warrant a new release, considering it also has updated graphical features, new aviary mechanics making air enclosures fun and interesting, adding aquatics. the changes to how everything works with scientists and how incubation has changed (for the better if you ask me) the overhaul to the medical treatment, it gives the game a much needed new coat of paint, makes the game feel refreshing and adds a lot more meat to the game. Previously i didnt put too much into genetic modification outside of hybrids and colours and maybe the odd social change. Now with the new traits i find genetic modification much more rich and rewarding or even detrimental if i ignore it, with dinosaurs getting sick more often or being less social or more aggressive. Most aspects of JWE 1 that felt very empty and dull are now interesting and create new challenges to overcome, no longer is the medical aspect of the game "dino is sick. Researching cure. dart dino" now that you have to first diognose your dino then either fly them to your paleo medical facility or instead do the old dart method or even just keep an eye on them as they get over their pneumonia or minor injury it adds an extra layer, it may not in the grand scheme of things be a huge change but its just enough to keep the game engaging in those quiet stretches as you're trying to reach a larger goal.
@jacobely68263 жыл бұрын
@@GothPlatypus i wouldnt skip JWE 2 it may seem like a very surface level change but trust me all of the tweaks, new dinosaurs, new enclosure types, territory system and whole range of changes creates a much MUCH more fun experience than JWE 1 that videos cant really do justice as here for example we dont see to much of the dinosaurs behaviour, just the fallout of it. The territory system is honestly my favourite change, it means you can finally have huge enclosures with many many dinosaur types that all largely get along until one breaches the others territory and all hell breaks loose because they hate eachother. I was able to have a single enclosure park with dinos ranging from the largest of carnivores to the smallest of herbivores with only a handful of deaths every now and then, which was amazing compared to jwe 1 where a t.rex would basically just hunt everything else to extinction. and this is the same with most of the aspects of the game now, it all feels very much in depth and rich where JWE 1 felt shallow in places. I can see myself playing this game for a lot longer than JWE 1
