Like a ninja or a poor grad student, Bethanny we think alike! I also wear my heaviest shoe on the plane, and have a ready toiletries bag, that is large enough to fit my makeup and small enough to fit in my carry on. I can't pay for the extra bags! Totally makes sense to carry-on, airlines are getting greedy lol

Pretty much what I do. But I bring a bigger bag as my purse/one item, you can get more stuff in and put a smaller purse/clutch inside. You need flip flops for the hotel and a pair of flats or refined sneakers. And use the carryon allotment for your kids, they each get 1 carryon & 1 bag too!

so true - i've never had it happen, knock on wood, but my brother's luggage has been lost 4 times out of the 6 or 7 he's flown past 2 yrs--carry on def the way to go!
