PACK WITH ME in a carry on for a SIX WEEK LONG TRIP!!! *stressful* lol

Today we're packing for my six week long trip to the east coast!!! It was definitely a challenge for me as I am what you would call your classic overpacker, but I manage to fit most of what I wanted to bring into my bag! Enjoy :)

I’m shocked you didn’t get stopped for your liquids not being together in a clear quart sized bag. You had so many liquids!

Just some suggestions… Packing cubes, Store hair products, etc at mom’s, wear heavy shoes while traveling and put others shoes in hand bag, roll your clothes and edit clothes to mix and match with only one jacket or sweater.

Pack for a week and do laundry. Four pairs of pants, five tops, two pairs of shoes total. Your liquid containers have to be 3.4 ounces or less. The liquid volume doesn't matter, the container does. Try gotubes. Many of the things that you're putting in your cosmetic bag need to go in your quart liquids bag. I'm not through the video yet so maybe you figured that out🤣

Packing cubes are good but compression packing cubes is where its at. Saves you even more room!

FYI for next time, your liquid containers are supposed to be together in 1 quart-size bag AND 3.4oz max size each (so technically, you’re not allowed to put 3.4oz of liquid in a bigger container). That being said, you can almost always get away with it (lol), but those are the official TSA rules!

The whole time I was wanting to say use vacuum seal bags!! Such a game changer and you can fit so much!

@@JillCimorelli there’s some that come with a little pump and it pulls the air out like a vacuum would! Super easy and then you just put the pump in your carry on for later use ☺️

There are some vacuum bags that don't need a pump. You roll the air out. Just keep in mind if you ever have to go by weight, the vacuum bags add weight. Once the air is out Your clothes will be heavier.

I really enjoyed watching this Jill. I hate having to pack. For any length trip. Its like well I really want to bring something but it is realistic. A lot of asking myself those types of questions. You did a great job Jill.

My husband and I travel a lot. We stayed in timeshare for 32 weeks last year and most trips are 5 weeks at a time. I realized a few years ago that folding into small rectangles and then putting them in my bag like books on a shelf works way better than rolling things. I live by this way of packing now always. I actually have all of my clothes for 5 weeks in a cloth bag from Vera Bradley. Its similar to a duffle bag but unzips on the top like a suitcase.. Essentially smaller than a carry on bag. I also dont unpack when I get to a new place. By keeping things in the bag I am actually way more organized. I can see everything at once because the clothing is folded on end like books on a shelf. Also when we pack up to move to a new location it literally takes us 10 minutes to grab toiletries and throw our stuff in the car and head out. Always enjoy seeing how other people pack for trips and this way really makes the most sense for me because we esssentially travel more than 50% off the year.

Always wear your heaviest shoes on the plane. Packing cubes help but I think you did a good job of getting your clothes packed efficiently. glad you did not bring that leather jacket given the incredibly high temperatures that we have had in the past couple of weeks!

Rolling compression bags… amazon. They will save your life. I’m using them for my carry on to the UK. I already tested them on a trip to VA from Michigan. I had room for three pairs of shoes, jeans, dresses, jackets, sweatpants, pajamas, all my accessories, purses, and had enough space that my stuff was still rattling around in my bag.

I was going to ask if you’ve ever used packing cubes…but almost everyone has jumped on this… they are a game changer for me.. I can fit four cubes in the compression side of my away carry on.. and always have room for more items if I want to shop or buy anything on my trips.. but also I dont wear makeup or use skincare, so I have tons of other space on the other side for misc items..

Get some vacuum storage bags! fold up your clothes, place in vacuum bags, suck the air out and you could triple the amount of clothes you can fit

FYI the bottles u carry w liquids cannot exceed 3.4 oz capacity (you can’t use a larger bottle w less liquid) 🤦‍♀️

Probably because right now with travelling peoples bags are getting lost or they don’t get them. Here in Toronto Canada at Pearson is the worst. So I think a lot of people now are just bringing carry on bags!

I could never travel with a already full bag (carry on or checked bag) at the beginning of my trip because.....SHOPPING!! I am not a huge shopper BUT there is always something that i end up picking up on vacation. I guess, worst case scenario is that i would have to ship things in a box back home 🤷‍♀ 💖

Oh... I hate to say this.... but TSA regulation is the bottle should be under 3.4oz. Lets say if u got a 2oz in a 5floz bottle, that would be no go.

The only rule for carry on is that it has to fit in the overhead compartment
