I am getting ready for my annual CTMH convention and thought I would share a few of my favorite packing tips and tricks.

Thank you so much! I still use this bag and this kit for all of my travel. We just went on a 16 day cruise and let's just say that I needed to restock when we came home because of how much our party of 7 needed it's contents.

Great to hear these experiences. They all serve to allow people to truly get over the fishbowl effect where they feel somehow separated from the disabled and somehow lose sight of their humanity. Like when people touch you. Ha. I’m sure that can be uncomfortable depending, but really I’d chalk it up to true affection and feelings towards you. It’s hard to explain the emotions that come when seeing a disabled person. I think it’s ingrained to be sympathetic, protective and to want to help. But I can see how this brings unwanted behavior like touching, helping without being asked, etc I know us folks without visible disabilities can be frustrating, but I hope you realize where it’s coming from. Your efforts are a great help to make people conscious of how to interact with those with disabilities respectfully.

I bought the little baggies from Michael's or Hobby Lobby. They are in the jewelry making section of the store.

I love this pharmacy kit. When we travel, you can be sure it is after hours when you need cough drops, paracetamol, tummy tablets or ointment. Carrying just a small amount gets you through until the next day. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I am watching this in 2019 and found this MOST helpful! I have always had this sort of bag when we go on cruises but I want to get down to the essentials and use a smaller bag and this video was perfect!

Put cough drops in and maybe peppermint they are a great source for stomach issues as well as the pepto bismol

I just came home from a road trip and you would not believe how many times I needed to use the contents of my WP. Sometimes I feel like a dork for packing it - then it comes in handy and I am fine again. :-)

Good Morning. I will never understand why Target stopped carrying such a functional bag. I gave my "extra" bag to my daughter and would like to have another one for myself. That little bag has been all over the world with me. The one that I use in the video is about 5x7x1 inches. I checked Ebay and Amazon and did not see a comparable bag but did see an assortment of medium pouch style that will work. The key is only packing what your family uses and packing in smaller containers. Also if you have Rx's keep a copy of the script in this bag and have your pharmacy print off another bottle sticker for you. My Rx meds have changed so I actually keep mine in a separate pouch and just keep my over the counter meds in the Orla Kiely bag. I hope this information helps.

The little bottles are just the travel "Advil" ect. from the the travel section of the store. As I empty a bottle I just take the label off and clean the bottle.

Good to be aware of these annoyances. I’m sure many people weren’t aware of some of them. Talking to someone with you instead of you is inexcusable in my opinion. Like you’re incapable of conversation? Or maybe it’s due to their assuming you have speech problems? Not good. As to people asking what’s wrong with me, I think sarcasm would be my weapon of choice. I’d have some particularly stinging comebacks at the ready. 😅 “What’s wrong with YOU?” springs to mind. But I know you’re too well mannered for that.

No offense but if you have prescriptions and they aren't in the actual prescription bottle it is a felony for every pill not it its rightful bottle and it is the law in every state. #justsaying

I have a copy of the Rx tucked in the kit also and I have since asked my pharmacy for the stickers that go on the original bottles. I just put the stickers on the smaller bottle and all is good.

@@JenniferPerryMyScraproom Late to reply here, but some pharmacies can offer to 'sachet pack' your meds. The meds come individually wrapped in a perforated ribbon of labelled and dated meds. There is typically a cost for the service, but check with your pharmacy.
