Kate your face LIGHTS UP when you talked about all the things that you want this place to be and how you want it set up. Keep focusing on that and looking forward. Of course it is scary and so many unknowns but the thing that matters is your vision and dream of this place that you can call your own. Don’t give in to the doubt or fear - you are on the right track.❤

You are doing great Feathers! Yea, the off season can be lonely and currently feeling overwhelmed but it’ll turn out just how you want. You are making so much progress already and with the plans you want to do it will turn out great! It is going to be an amazing spot for everyone to enjoy and use. In time I am sure you can hire people to help you relieve some stress and it’ll help if you ever feel the need to travel/escape for a while.

You know how obstacles are really just opportunities to be creative and think around any issue whether it's taking out a wall or personal things maybe you could have a trusted person to watch the shop in Winter for a while then you can head Styles or whatever or you could take up skiing and snowshoeing in Winter camping there's a lot you could do in the winter to help keep the boredom and drudgery of it all away

Have a problem sleeping due to my mind racing. I am traveling around American living a nomadic lifestyle. I have volunteered my time at 5 different Indian reservations. like to be called Chief some like to be called elder one showed me a breathing exercise that clears your mind. U first inhale as hard as you can until yo u can fill it all the way down in your diaphragm land then you r hold that air in for a 20-count and then you slowly exhale on a 20-count you do that 20 times and when you're done your mind will not be racing you will lay down and go straight to sleep within seconds or at least that's what it's done for me I hope it does the same for you 9 Lives 🐾 Trail Name

husband speaking age 80 ( Janet's husband ) I guess the folks in the Amazon warhorse don't really have time to find a proper fit box for an item like the broom head - find one that fits, throw in a bunch of air bags and ship. Get their quota done.

Another strange coincidence is my ex-wife is an artist mostly sculpture like like our youngest son who is also an artist, I was as an artist but not nearly as talented, my other son works for Tesla. She does large scale commercial goat herding with her dogs. Her brother, (she was adopted) is now retired sold most of rebar wholesale around the world and built bridges, tunnels, roads, earthquake retrofits, they were the fifth largest road construction company. She was deported back from Finland last year, long story but is great resource for goat knowledge, FYI.

Wow, I bet you have a lot of stories about a lot of things! I appreciate your message. I will stay out of the I 80 politics for sure. Definitely too bad about the gum ball machine...claw machine could be made into something fun for the hikers! 🤔 I could get gear companies to donate some stuff to fill it with 😃 lol As far as thw Pinting from the PCT I'd love to paint you a piece...that's still how I make 90% of my living so PLEASE don't be shy or I'll starve lol
@tomphillips3162 Жыл бұрын
@@KateCloud I still have the claw machine, coin operated machines are being replaced with card operated machines, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective on the way the world is changing. Coin operated gumball machines though nostalgic are a waste of time and money, nuts and candy can go stale a liability in some cases. The last thing I can remember being able to buy for a penny was a gumball at Safeway. Coin machines can be gotten very cheap because automation will set you free to go hike or travel without worry of being ripped off, usually unfortunately by those closest to you, sad but true. I have to go but I am serious about the painting and will let you know the scene from your hike. Today was a chaotic day in the auto shop, etc. Thank you for the reply.
@tomphillips3162 Жыл бұрын
Also I should add my place in Montana is at the end of Spoon Lake north of Columbia Falls Mt. I have a major grow in Oroville Ca and auto shop in Brentwood Ca. Next month I will be in Columbia Falls for a while but mostly visiting Columbia and maybe elsewhere like Peru. The cartel is now the clan as we all know, people can't just leave it alone strange as that is. FYI, I also visited Billy the Kids Gravesite on a side trip to Phoenix AZ, about ten years ago, I saw the grave and the museum at the gravesite not the other one, I also bought a Handmade doll from some Native Americans nearby that I had a get together with. New Mexico was far more interesting than I thought it would be. Everything I said previous is true but I only talk about the dead because it's not what I'm about, it is my past and unfortunately in many ways still my present. Like most people I live in a complex world. I find thru hikers to be way more interesting. I did the primitive living thing for years and might do it again someday but the world has a way of sinking it's claws into many of us. The most secure way will be ship the painting to Brentwood because the mail is brought into the building. Now I really have to go again for the night.

If I'd only known. I threw away some gumball machines and other vending machines that work on coins and dollars. I still have a claw machine. The industry is upgrading to credit debit cards due to inflation and ease. The laundromats are starting to do so as well, the business is becoming fully automated. The good news is that you will be able to get used equipment for next to nothing. Every so often I get a free wood stoves, some nicer than others, but I'm wondering if a pellet stove where you are at would be a better fit? I have have business property in California and residential property in Montana. Prices make no sense right now. I can fly round trip with bag for 150 dollars after tax in two hours, flying is cheaper than gas. I run an automotive business. I have business with laundromat slash gas stations slash food places as well. But the automotive is my big money maker. Wood and huckleberries are like gold in Montana. I burn wood there because I have lakefront acreage in the woods near Glacier and the PNT. I did the primitive living thing years ago and because I was the first to live in my area it paid off huge being just inside the grid lines. I do want a painting of a view I want you to do. It's a view on the PCT in Washington. A view I saw on a video during your hike but I get busy and forget to arrange that and I'm a bit shy to be honest. I know for 100 percent this dream of yours will work out in the long run, please don't be scared or listen to the haters. Your success unfortunately will bring both lovers and haters. Be kind to the old owner but not nice, if you know what I mean. Your going to succeed in areas where she failed. I have a history of turning businesses around which is why I know you will succeed. Also please forget buying the gas station, if anything do what I do and lease it. Owning the property is a money pit. I lease an old truck stop gas station, but would never buy it, the pumps and tanks would cost millions to upgrade. Instead the owners spends my lease money on my utilities and keeping the government compliant through inspection politics. Most important is starting out don't buy anything new that is not fully automated, like I said the industry is upgrading to card. Also stay out of I 80 politics. My long term GF is in fact "Baby Girl" of the East Oakland Hells Angels from way back and I grew up knowing Tony the "Tornado", it's a life story that is just coincidence in many ways. Her Dad was a Greek man who painted flames and things on motorcycles. Her dog is mentioned in Soney's autobiography and my Gf was often watched by Elsie who wanted a baby but died in a home abortion, she made Sony promise to give my GF favors for life it ever is needed but of coarse will neever be needed. Tony Cardenas had a similar love for myself. We were born into the game, in different ways, I know everything there is to know about moving things around, my Dad designed the Sea Marshalls and the TSA uses his training manuals, another amazing coincidence that is easily verified. We have pictures etc. of all this. I know details like Fed Ex, UPS, Amazon and other private businesses don't need a search warrant to open and inspect packages but the USPS does, common sense stuff like that. I don't participate in any illegal activities because there is plenty of legal, legit money to be made. Stay away from both sides the money is not worth your freedom and the new drugs they have out are worse than ever. Don't get to know either side they will all throw you under the bus, in different ways. I am so happy for you that you are living your dreams. Be safe and have fun with the thru-hikers they are the people I most admire.
