I enjoyed listening to that demo record. I remember as a kid that we had a RCA console that actually did handle stereo, but all our records were mono. Then my Dad come by with our first stereo demo record and I remember sitting right in the front of the speakers and enjoying stereo. Was very cool! See ya -- Atco

This dates back to the era of TV/radio/stereo combinations in handcrafted fine furniture style cabinets. Solid state/transistor technology made them obsolete because the TVs in these units had chassis tubes. Also, "Gravy Waltz' proves that Steve Allen was a man of many talents: TV host, comedian, songwriter and musician.

Wow! It's true you can find ANYTHING on KZbin. Christmas 1963 my folks purchased a beautiful pecan French Provincial style Packard Bell Stereophonic HiFi...and this vinyl LP came with it. One of my favorite cuts on this platter was George Cates' Exotica version of "Hawaiian War Chant" complete with cuica, bongos and Novochord! Space Age music for Space Age Stereophonic sound!!! To my four-year-old ears, it was edgy stuff. That is, until I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan...

A couple of years ago I found a Packard Bell stereo demo LP in a similarly shaped sleeve. They were calling it 'Total Sound Stereo' in 1960 when this LP I have was produced. It was produced by Warner Brothers Records, and has Jack Wagner (whom you hear on side 1 of the famous 1958 Bel Canto stereo demo LP) doing the commentary on side 1. Side 2 of this album has six tracks, each from a different WB LP.

He's right--it really does sound like a live performance. I'll have to show this to someone the next time they tell me that vinyl can't sound better than digital.

Reminds me of an afternoon at The White Front store in Van Nuys in 1962. Now -no, my FM multiplex does not sound quite like that...lol!

Wonder was this like a special demo disc of the quadraphonic sound at the time or some sort of special left minus right stereo separation of Packard bell or ???

I never use high res on my Music rips from vinyl, but not too low to make the resolution look bad.... M&H Band - Popcorn (Reddenbacher Mix) Johnny Ashcroft - Little Boy Lost Yello - The Race (Extended)

Is this the same packard bell company that made PCs in the 90's?

Packard Bell was sold to Teledyne in 1968, and then Teledyne sold the brand name to a group of Israeli investors in 1986, who began selling computers and other office equipment under the Packard Bell name.

mspysu79 The PB PC that I had was the multimedia C115 with 120mhz CPU and 16MB of ram and a 1.2 GB hard drive. I have USB sticks and SD cards that are bigger.

+coondogtheman1234 I have the same model (C115) though I upgraded the CPU to a 200 Mhz one, doubled the RAM to 32MB and changed the hard drive to a 6.4 GB one.I also put in a Diamond Monster 3D card in there too (which was a 4 MB 3Dfx Voodoo 1 3D accelerator).I kep the original parts though and it still works great.

m9078jk3 What OS you running on it? if I still had my mom's old packard bell I'd find a way to replace the HDD with a MicroSD card and then just max the ram and then play older games on it that can't be run on modern PCs.

192kbps AAC and you made an awful choice of uploading the video on 240p, now the song is playing on 48kbps AAC because of 240p
