The Green Bay Packers have got themselves a big time steal in Karl Brooks. Brooks wasn't expected to do a lot for the Packers. But the Packers have been able to use Brooks as a defensive playmaker at times. The Green Bay Packers have to like what they are seeing from Karl Brooks.

Gutekunst turned this year's pick 45 into Jayden Reed (2nd round), Dontayvion Wicks (5th) and Karl Brooks (6th). Sans injuries, all 3 could receive 2nd contracts. It would make pick 45 one of the best of the last decade.

Luke Musgrave and even if we can see kraft make more plays like he did Sunday look out. Not to mention being able to sign Brenton cox Jr as a undrafted free agent. I think he will become a monster in the future. Oh and don't forget about wooden. This rookie class of the packers is stacked and has the potential to end up being one of our best drafts ever. All these rookies could easily become long term nfl players.

Why wasn't Brooks taken earlier than the 6th round? Like you said, even PFF had him graded statistically as the top Defensive Lineman in the Draft.

@Musicsports small school, played out of position and his RAS score wasn't great. I loved his production. The MAC is underrated. He played OLB at 300 lbs. That tells me he's plenty athletic enough. I was pissed they didn't take him in the 5th round when he was available. Can't believe he lasted that long.

Reed, Wicks and Brooks would be a solid draft alone. You typically want three or four starters in a draft. Now add Van Ness, Musgrave, Kraft, Valentine, Wooden, Clifford and Carlson. All of them will contribute and Valentine, Van Ness, Musgrave and Kraft will likely be long term starters too. The last 2 drafts have been absolutely outstanding so far.

He played a lot at edge in college which is insane for someone his size. Can definitely see the movement/athleticism there. He's going to be a handful for NFL guards 1v1. Question is can he contribute in the run game consistently to get on the field or will he stay as a situational pass rusher.

If our coaches are up to snuff on the development side - a question which remains to be satisfactorily answered in my own opinion - there is a _lot_ of extremely high potential on this very young team.

And the nice play by Brooks negated because Smith ducks instead of putting his hands up and blocking the pass. Why don't pass rushers as soon as they see the QB go to throw get their f'n arms up?
