Thanks for the review! Been waiting on it, but yes I have been asking and asking for them to make those tech pockets to be zippered! On the Minaal member forums, and nothing yet, also the Minaal carry on 3.0 doesnt even have the same organisation on the top of the folder sleeve. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

The area that you don't like (pocket on the computer section) it's an easy fix, put also a zipper like the one on the other side.

@@mrcvry Can you do a quick comparison to the Aer Travel Pack 2 if you've used it? Are there any bags you currently prefer to the Minaal 3.0? Are you using a camera cube or any specific accessories with it?

@@bladerealm124 I do not have the Aer but there are reviews about the two bags. The Minaal is my favorite now because of its minimal approach. Empty it is very flat and appears to be small but you can fit a lot of stuff in it. Because of its round shape it does not appear bulky even if completely packed up. I got Nomatic bags first because they have pockets to organize absolutely everything and cable channels to connect them. But those inside pockets are taking up space and add weight. Those pockets are handy but annoying if you need to switch bags. The backpacks are always the same size - empty or full. My brother got another backpack and I took a look a couple of days ago. I was very surprised that they shamelessly stole a lot of Minaal”s features. They even say that they took the best ideas of other companies. But by adding some more bells and whistles they have ruined the minimalistic and practical approach that Minaal’s bags have. For example they have added more compression straps but you always have to unbuckle them first before opening the bag. My brother hates that. Minaal’s two straps can be hooked on both sides of the zipper and are out of the way if not needed. The small things are what make you love or hate something. I do not use camera cubes. I have a lot of bags, sleeves, pockets from ThinktankPhoto in different sizes for every occasion. I could use a smaller ThanktankPhoto bag as a camera cube or just switch to a larger ThinktankPhoto backpack depending on the occasion.

@@mrcvry thank you for the info! How do you find the comfort fully packed compared to other bags? Do you use the hip belt? (Separate purchase I think)
@mrcvry4 жыл бұрын
@@bladerealm124 I have test packed the bag with extra heavy stuff (groceries) but not carried that for long. But from experience with other bags... the Minaal Carry-On has the load-lifter feature for a better weight distribution. A heavy Minaal will be much more comfortable than any backpacks without that! I do not think that any normal traveling stuff would be so heavy that it would become uncomfortable. I did not order the hip belt because I have two from Nomatic. Minaal is using just a loop and no special attachment. The Nomatic hip belts can be attached (with some force). Normally I do not use the hip belt but I like to have that option. If you will order a Minaal I would recommend a set with the travel accessories. For comparison I own a TomBihn, RiutBag, 25l & 40l Nomatics and Thinktank backpacks. The 40l Nomatic i.e. is a big pain to carry if heavy loaded - with or without the hip belt. I would not use it for traveling. It is for people who love duffle bags. The 35l RiutBag also has the load-lifter feature and would be an alternative but the Minaal still appears to be smaller/thinner - more minimal elegant. But that is probably a matter of taste. The RiutBag looks more like a shopping bag. The quality for a RiutBag is also great. Every single backpack is personally quality checked by the company owner! You could find used Minaal backpacks on their webpage. Minaal has started a program to reward customers who sell their backpacks to others. The backpacks will last a lifetime and it would be a shame if some would just gather dust.

Great review! Can you do a quick comparison of the Minaal Carry-on and how it ranks compared to the Aer Travel Pack 2? Are there any bags you currently prefer to the Minaal Carry-on 3.0? Do you know which company's or size camera cube would fit best in the Daily 3.0 and/or Carry-on 3.0?

13:18 when you’re in a tsunami, Southeast Asia or anywhere else, a rain cover is not going to save you. Maybe you meant monsoon?
@PackHacker24 жыл бұрын
Yep - monsoon - thanks! - Tom
@M0ebius4 жыл бұрын
@Robert Williamson What you’re saying is technically correct but a bit pedantic. When most people speak of monsoons, particularly in the context of Southeast Asia, they are talking about the rainy phase of the wet monsoon.
@M0ebius4 жыл бұрын
@Robert Williamson lol. Yes thank you but I know what a monsoon is, both technically and colloquially, and I have experienced it myself extensively. I simply find being excessively pedantic off-putting as well as being an inefficient way to communicate. But if you insist on being accurate, then I must point out that the rainy phase of a wet monsoon is one of the formally accepted definition of the term “monsoon” by virtually every dictionary.

Hi, I'm looking at this to add to my Minaal Carryon 3.0...If packed full, would it be too large to count as a personal item? Thanks
@PackHacker22 жыл бұрын
It depends on the airline and how full you have the bag stuffed when it comes to personal items! We recommend checking with the airline and measuring your pack when it’s packed out. -Eric

Does that backpanel button come undone easily or does it stay snapped in? Also, can you feel the button against your back when you wear the bag?
@PackHacker24 жыл бұрын
Hey tcxi, we haven't had any issues with the snap fasteners digging against our backs or coming undone during testing, but it does become an annoyance if you’re constantly switching between the two modes of carry. - Rebecca
