I love the basket idea. I am going to try to do something like that at Christmas. AfterI retiring from teaching, I took a consulting job traveling across the country teaching and coaching administrators and teachers about a math software program. I loved having those packing cubes. I left a toiletry bag in my suitcase and could pack for a week in a matter of 15 minutes. I put an outfit in each cube so that I just took a packing cube out each day and it had everything that I was going to wear the next day. Worth the money for sure

Before you explained about the roadtrip, I was shocked that you were making the baskets, even though they are a really cool idea, the thought of taking them through an airport with 25 people and on a plane.... wow! So excited for you guys! I know that you guys already left, but a great hack to find luggage and ensure that others do take you bag, go to Michael’s or Hobby Lobby and grab different ribbons. Each kid has their own ribbon that they can put on their backpacks and suitcases, so they can easily spot in on the conveyor belt and you don’t have to worry about getting different colors for suitcases.

I make customized, a bit oversized luggage tags. I use colored paper, I laminate the luggage tags and then use a colorful duct tape around the edges. Palm trees, flip flops, even bright solid colors. Then use colorful zip ties to put them on. We travel quite a bit and our luggage tags help us identify our luggage really well, whether in the airport or cruise port baggage claim!!!!

You can buy a roll of bright colored ribbon and tie it on your suitcases so they are all the same and easy to spot on the conveyor belt. Then you don't have to worry about getting the wrong one. Doggy hotels work great but if it turns out they don't do well with it, next time get a house/pet sitter to stay with them at your house. That way you have someone keeping an eye on your house while you are gone too. My kids did pet sitting while in high school and college and it's much less stress on the dogs, especially if they are older.

In Disney parks u can go to any food booth and ask for a cup of water.. it’s FREE! If the booth has a fountain thing for soft drinks they will most likely give u water.. (my sister works quick service there so we know all the secrets)
