I am SO ecstatic that I found you- I am 2 days away from having my gastric pacemaker replaced (I have had it for 9 years...battery died AND the leads penetrated through the muscle 🙄) and because of the leads migrating, I am expected to be in the hospital for 5-7 days. I was looking for a video on what to pack, and I happened to click on yours first!!! I couldn’t believe that you also have gastroparesis! It’s really really encouraging to find someone willing to share their struggles with this illness on KZbin!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I also have Gastroparesis, IBS, and multiple autoimmune diseases. Im always struggling to get enough calories. When hospitalized, I always take comfort items, my own pillow, a comfy blanket, electric heat pad for my back. Over sized leggings, tank tops, sports bras, thick wool socks, slippers, a light bathrobe, and my own hygiene products. My Kindle, on my tablet, with downloaded movies. A deck of cards, and a crochet/knitting project, if I have the energy. I also can play low music on my tablet, which makes everything more tolerable.

It is nice to bring a soft blanket from home for the time you are in the hospital. The hot packs are a great idea too! Here in the U.S., in NY, the hospitals are pretty stingy with hot and cold packs😊

@annam57336 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I used to think the same thing until had to be in the hospital for a while. For me it was just to make myself feel better like obviously you're not looking your best when you stuck in a hospital bed so mascara made me feel more like me. Little things make for big confidence boosters
@oliveoil70085 жыл бұрын
It is maybe because when you are in a hospital you look very sick and everything and it might be a comfort or something fun to do.
@mamabear85655 жыл бұрын
When you’re sick all the time, the little things, like fixing your hair a little & makeup, make you feel a lot more...idk...normal? Less sickly? It’s a mental health thing for me, personally.
