I packed for many years. You don't want to use so much dunnage that the packages become "pregnant". Makes them harder to stack which means more likely to fall over or fall off a stack of packages during shipping. Also, if a heavy package is placed on top of your pregnant package it puts the load on the contents which can crush the product you're trying to ship.

In time, the plastic cases will become brittle and shatter, paper inserts will yellow and fade and the discs will succumb to disc rot. Not much point buying physical to preserve, they need to be ripped digitally and stored on the internet, which pretty much every game in existence already is.
@ElusiveTy4 ай бұрын
There is a movement that does this but preservation is mostly digital, that's how we've preserved many things (not just games). I do think the physical copies should be saved from being thrown out before their time but in terms of longevity, digital preservation is the best we know of.

@@SailorMoonFan92 heres the thing though, these items really do last for a really long time, theres still many items that were made in the 70s and still work to this very day, theres people that even manufacture parts to restore these items, just look at what they do with psps, its fascinating, you can literally restore it back to nearly new condition, anyways this is about preferences, im all for emulation and digitalization of everything, but having this as an option is great as well and important, i understand your point about rot, but its not very common, it can happen yes but its not something crazy as the red ring of death, in fact its kinda rare, i have about 200 cds of content and vhs tapes and not one has rotted, cds and tapes made in the 80s and 90s!

Just got recommended this like five minutes ago, and I'm impressed. Started gaming in 98 at 8 years old. I never sold my games and/or put them away somewhere i can never get to them. They're still in my room of my house. Married with kids old enough below ten. My wife is the same. Started a year after me and never stopped. She kept hers too and when we saw each other's collection a decade ago, we told ourselves we need to put them all into one separate room where we can play. Fast forward three years ago we got a house that can provide just that. Everytime i see game trailers and gameplay stuff, old and new mind you, i always pause and go to the comments first. I always without fail see a comment where they say that they wished they still play these games. And i wonder, "did you sell away your old games and made way for the new?" or something that goes along those lines. If you still have them, why bother making a comment precisely implying such a thing. If you say money is tight and have different priorities then i can somewhat understand (i say somewhat because that's a very broad spectrum if you think about it). Or you really did want to let them go to make way for the new shiny thing. You can learn to manage your time like i did. Everyone is diffferent but i got a routine and I've stuck to it since getting my job as a factory worker a decade and a half ago. And even more tighter as a parent and husband. It's not that hard to do. Takes several minutes to longer than to accomplish, depending on your current lifestyle. Just two days ago I played War of the Monsters, it's a 3D fighting game about monsters and robots and stuff and your arena is literally a sandbox playground where anything is interactable and can be thrown to your enemy for damage. It's awesome. Only played for an hour but i got my time in so I'm not really complaining about it. Two weeks before that i was playing God of War. No not Dad of Boi, God of War. And a month before that Rayman. Yeah, Rayman. How about that.... For the gamers who plays recent games and wanted to go back because of the statements above, you are alot. Like alot alot. But for a few like myself who never really did the things stated above, i commend you. Something to think about. I may be talking as if I'm a bad apple, I'm not i can assure you. It's been weighing heavily on me for about five years and it got really strong during the peak of COVID. I'm not saying you're bad for selling old games and making way for the new ones. I'm saying you didn't need to do that to feel nostalgic. I have my nostalgia cozily at home waiting for me to choose them for a half hour to an hour. Now i know that's abysmal for playtime, but i do have different priors now than back then. Could have made streaming work? Maybe, didn't try but i didn't consider it either. Could have balanced work life and stream life? Maybe, a tall order to be sure but i believe it could be done. I didn't consider though but it could have worked if i tried it. Sorry for the novel, but like i said, it was weighing on me for some time. Much love and respect.

Love this. The amount I would pay to play TimeSplitters: Future Perfect again on the PS2 is ridiculous. Glad you give people like me their youth back.

Future Perfect goes for around $30 and you can buy second hand ps2's for around $100 - $150. Not an insane amount at all.

I pack wind turbine parts to send to sites for a living but I wish I packed video games instead. Great video!
