tennesee has always been a state i would LOVE to live in. such a great location, not too south that it's hot and humid, but not too north that it's super cold and snowy. also the nashville suburb area is SO fun, there's tons of stuff to do and the mountains are so stunning! such a great place to start a family.

Born and raised in Nashville, TN. Live in a suburb outside Nashville with my little family now. And let me just say ... EXTREMELY HOT AND HUMID. We really only have Summer and Fall and maybe a week or two if Spring and about a month of Winter.

Oh dear, you definitely have not been to Tennessee! We've just had an ice storm. Next is tornado season. Had a F5 tornado last year!! Tornadoes are very common here. Then comes summer with 90% humidity and extremely hot weather.

Oh my goodness! Hahaha I live in Indiana and the weather is like terrible 80% of the time. Our winters are SO brutal. And the state itself is just ugly. Anything farther south is nicer than what we have here! I can see the July/August being hot.

Moving tip! We bought colored masking tape and had a different color for each room: threw purple strips on boxes going to the bedroom, orange for the office, blue for living room, etc. It helped unloading go much more quickly and smoothly! ☺️ good luck with the next few weeks!

So happy for you guys to be moving to TN! It’s the best place ever (lived here for 38 years) especially the farther you get out from the bigger cities. TN has so much to offer! You’re from LA and FL so the temp/humidity will be something you’re very familiar with. However, something most don’t realize when they move here - we do get quite a few tornadoes. I think it’s because we have the Smokies to the West. Definitely something to think about when buying a home here.

Nashville has a goodwill outlet that you have to visit! It’s a little overwhelming at first, but they bring out huge bins that you sort through of random items and then you pay by the weight so you can get a TON of stuff for nothing. Its something to experience at least once if you love thrifting!
