😲😲 increíble que una aeronave ultra liviana de alto rendimiento, quepa en una mochila tan pequeña 💪💪

That was masterful the way he leaf'ed the wing with the lines, or is it a special fast-pack wing? haha.

one could probably use this technique, but take a moment to ensure the rods are lined up and flat, and be done in, say, 3 mins. still pretty sharp.

Geez KZbin is creepy. I just sat down to look up "concertina packing" on here to get my wing shipped/inspected, and this was already at the top of my homepage. Welp I'll be done in like 30mins 😅

Yeah, f..k the rods! LOL

Have you heard about the "Nickel titanium, also known as nitinol" they started using for about a decade now? Or do you think gliders are made or steel and they will break when folded? Also these gliders dont have thick rods running throughout the chord.
@alejoal0713 күн бұрын
Nitinol rods can still get bent, only reason they fold like that is because they get new gliders quite often, they don't need to care for them as much
@TheGrundigg13 күн бұрын
@@alejoal07 they literally don't bend unless you pinch them hard. Also this is perfectly fine for short term packing, it's just storage that should be done more loosely.
@stevecrye2 жыл бұрын
This only works with a wing that does not have rods that must be carefully aligned. But still amazing!
@mcbrite2 жыл бұрын
Depends... If you are carefully packing it to store for a long time: Yes... But if, like in video/h&f competition, you pack the wing just to carry it a few hours, I doubt there are many wings delicate enough for it to be a problem... And certainly even less wings designed especially for hike and fly, if any....

He doesn't give a fuck about the nitinol rods!!!😂😂😂 Only those guys can do that! They receive a new wings every 3 months...
@mcbrite2 жыл бұрын
Not true... Anybody can do that... Their resilience is literally the main point of nitinol rods...
@michahermann78692 жыл бұрын
Nitinol rods spring back perfectly as long as the bending radius stays above 1cm. Which is pretty much always the case, even when you pack them a bit messy. So it's more a matter of lower packing volume and having your wing lay down a bit neater when preparing for takeoff (due to more evenly distributed folds in the fabric)
@uberdenwolken45642 жыл бұрын
How often did you already observed broken rods at all?
@TheGrundigg13 күн бұрын
Nitinol rods are literally used in gliders now so that they can bend quite severely without any issue...
