Packman: I think the reason the Euro 2020 box went down in price is because the event (UEFA EURO 2020) was postponed until 2021. If you wait until the event happens which should be in the summer it might go back up in price. I’m not an expert though so I don’t know for sure.

I recently got back into the hobby----my biggest mistake was not understanding the value of the current sets and buying a lot of the lesser value sets like score and prestige. I also went hard in the paint on contenders and prizm draft with players in their college uniforms. 😅

Yo Packman! Fun fact - when a card says “this piece of memorabilia is not from any specific game or event” that doesnt mean its just a random jersey lying around. It means it IS from an event, or game, they just dont know which. It could have been a piece of a jersey which a player put on for a photoshoot, or just a game. So dont get worried!

I’m a low risk kinda guy. When I was starting out, never bought a card for more than $20. Never owned any autos/RPAs due to my tight budget. The past decade I loaded up on Lebron, Kobe, Durant raw RCs (50-100 pieces each). Mostly bought them $1-5 each from eBay. Bought some Durant Topps chrome RCs at $20 (During his 2nd-3rd year in the NBA), a few graded Lebrons at $50. I did invest on some busts too like Blake Griffin over steph curry, DRose. But I didn’t lose much as I stayed on my budget of $1-5@card. Recently I invested on Tatum, Luka during their rookie years. Happy on how that turned out.

You're 100% right on baseball in that baseball requires patience and commitment. You can't buy a Robert today, let him have a couple good games to start the year, and make too big a profit. You can make some, but Robert's value is already high now and growth is tied to whether he will reach his potential. If a guy like Robert does make it, his cards aren't worth a fraction of what they will be long term. It's almost like buying all the rookies every year for the one or two that hit it really big. If you did it in 2018, you'd have made a lot of money. You just have to be patient and let it come to you. I actually think it's what makes collecting baseball cards so fun. Don't get too far ahead of yourself, but if you do it right you can make money and still keep some high value cards at the same time.

The problem with the soccer box is that it is a Euro 2020 box (a european national teams tournament that happens every four years). The tournament was postponed to 2021 due to Covid so I think that is the reason why the price fell.

You have some nice baseball cards. The bellinger rookie and that Robert variation chrome if graded is worth some good money. Even if you sell without grading some of these you can still make good money

One of my favorite cards in my PC is a 4/10 on card Leaf rookie auto of Justin Jefferson back when was first drafted. Bought it for $19 on eBay and probably could sell it for $200 ungraded. But it’s a PC so never selling. Still have my 96 Topps Kobe rookie ungraded but I’ll never sell that either. There’s sentimental value associated with a lot of PC items. Kobe has been in screw down for over 25 years since pulling it fresh from a pack as a teenager.

Hello Packman, this is why I collect NBA cards because I love the sport and I love collecting cards. The hobby should not become Wall Steet. Small collectors (with small budgets), like me, we can no longer follow, to indulge ourselves with Hobby Boxes. They are totally out of budget !!!! I fell back on old boxes from the 90s. And I take great pleasure in opening them. The hobby has become a business. Many here in France are disgusted with this development, especially the old ones like me who started in the middle of the 90s.

Those baseball rookies aren’t as bad as you think. Even the tatis heritage are going for 25 plus now. Pache 1sts are over 20. You’d be surprised what those 1st chromes that you prob paid 1.00 or 2 or going for now. Sell those in March you’ll make some nice money.

Believe me man, that Euro 2020 select box is going wayyyy up. Only went down because the euro was cancelled, it’s happening this summer, there are some young stars in that set in their first euro tournament and every single card collection of every major tournament, World Cup 2006-2018 and the euro 2016 cards went up tenfold afterwards. Euro 2020 cards gonna be 1000$ by end of the year, just look at the history of other soccer tournament cards. There are so many young talents in their first Euro(in the covid year) that’s a piece of history.

I'm new to sports card collecting. I only own a Prizm 2020 Patrick Mahomes II Red Wave card /149 the value of the card is increasing too. I don't recommend investing in Runningbacks as they have the shortest life span in the NFL, while of course Quarterbacks have the longest life span. Lookout for Trevor Lawrence 2021. He's going to be the next greatest quarterback since Patrick Mahomes II.

The Euro box is very low reward if you don’t get a handful of certain players in decent parallels. I’ve cracked a few for personal collection. They look nice but definitely aren’t worth it.

My biggest mistake was selling my 2008 Topps Chrome Kobe Bryant / LeBron Guarding. Picked that card up late 2019 for $5 + shipping, it was in pristine condition. It would of came back a PSA 9 for sure and maybe a PSA 10. Sold the card for $65 after his crash. Now the card is is $2k for a 9 and $8k+ for a 10.

Bought 2 chrome hobby boxes back when they were still at reasonable prices & luckily pulled a rookie Gleyber orange parallel #/25 along with his reg. rookie base. You have a great group of prospect cards, along with the autograph Buehler(who I think will win a Cy Young), so there’s value there. Back then I also got lucky when I bought a Leaf Valiant auto RC redemption of Juan Soto for $30, redeemed it & received #/35 auto parallel (his Leaf Valiant ssp auto RC right now are worth a lot). I still have both Gleyber’s & Soto’s ssp parallel cards, & haven’t decided yet if I’m going to sell them...

Baseball imo is the hardest to invest in due to the amount of time it takes for prospects to develop + too many high draft pick boom or busts. Football is also hard. Lots of boom or busts. Hockey and basketball has been the best for me simply because its easier to predict
