Cool. Been a Brompton rider for may years and have just got a packraft so will be trying the combination in the rivers and harbour inlets round Sydney soon.

That's exactly what I thought. And then you can set up camp at that inland lake of the old mine, park your brompton at camp and go for a lake tour by boat.
@donaldpang3 жыл бұрын
@@beachstart do you mean the quary ?
@beachstart3 жыл бұрын
@@donaldpang Yeah, exactly, the Ketam Quary - forgot the name. I had the honor once to climb to the viewpoint above the Ketam Quary and remember thinking, it would be great to paddle on this ever so blue water. But I have no clue if there is an easy access to the lake shore. I remember lots of steep rock-shore and it could be a nature reserve and not allowed. But this blue water sourrounded by the green trees looked amazing and cycling Pulau Ubin was a highlight of my travel - although it was on a Tern Link ;-)

So cool! Only I would give the life vest to your Brompton - it cannot swim if you should flip. ;-)

Haha that’s very true, need to get the bike a life vest. Will search for one 😅 anyway it was strapped very securely onto the boat.

Just wondering, why are you wearing a mask outside?. Love your video and your kayak. Awesome
@donaldpang2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I’m abiding the requirement of the law man unless engaging in strenuous activities, it’s a law to put on mask even outside. Mask is definitely off when I paddle 😁 stay safe bro

Looks Cool. How is the speed of the packraft? Can I paddle it with 4~5 km per hour on flat water?

Yes it is possible on flat water. It would also help if you have some weight at the bow to balance the boat. Thanks

Oh my goodness! I am dreaming of a folding bike with folding kayak combination for a while now! I am half way there :) why did you choose the packraft?
@donaldpang3 жыл бұрын
Hi this combo is also a dream Comes true to me. Hood you’ll get there soon. Two key reasons I chose a packraft - lightweight (mine 3.1kg and still not the lightest model) and packed small I.e. mobility. Cheers
@tandago72813 жыл бұрын
@@donaldpang how does it feel compared to a kayak?
@donaldpang3 жыл бұрын
@@tandago7281 I believe it serves different objectives. Kayak can go go faster and probably more durable as it’s hard shell. For packraft, I feel it’s more stable and forgiving though it will not be moving as fast as a kayak but that’s not my priority. I can load my bike be it mountain bike or foldie on a packraft and remain steady but not on a kayak.
@tandago72813 жыл бұрын
@@donaldpang Interesting, I didn't know that it is more stable. Being able to carry the brompton on the packraft and the packraft on a brompton is amazing. Speed is not a priority for me neither. What I do however really look for in a kayak is that feeling of sitting very low, close to the water, feeling like the boat is an extension of the body. (I dont like sit-up kayaks). That's why I prefer kayaks instead of canoe, for example, for me they are completely different as an experience. So I wonder if the packraft gives that feeling, or if it's more like a canoe.
@donaldpang3 жыл бұрын
@@tandago7281 you will definitely feel more relaxed in a packraft unless you are in a whitewater river 😆 I paddle out into the sea, let it drift and lean back and relax. My next video coming up you’ll understand. By the way, which part of the world are you from ?
