My main circle of friends are all outdoor activity enthusiasts. They go MTB downhill or Snowsports during winter. This would be a fantastic thing for us to purchase but its expensive. Pretty cool if the entire squad each had one.

how does the intercom affect music playing? It stops the music, or it plays over the top or the intercomm voice is rejected entirely when music / phone is playing?
@brandonsaltzmann964713 күн бұрын
you decide. you prioritize either the intercom or the music and it will cut off music significantly for intercom prioritization. with music priority the intercom plays while the music plays. you can adjust the music and voice volume to find your favorite setting.

Looking for suggestions for this scenario... 2 Motorcycles using Edge, and a vehicle pulling a camper trailer, using the outdoor. Vehicle would best use an external antennna, and wired headset with microphone. Is there a way to boost the range of the unit in the vehicle?

@TheTurtlehead91 did you have any issues with wind noise when moving at 20+ mph? I'm going to purchase these for my friends this ski season but the wind noise factor is the only thing I'm on the fence about.

Hi! The Packtalk Outdoor will block out wind noise, allowing you to hear your friends clearly while on the slopes.

Once two or more units are paired do they stay paired even after switching them off? Or do you have to repair them each time?

they will stay paired. it remembers your riders and stores them. if you reset either unit then you’re required to repair them.

I'm looking for a kit to communicate with my kid while skiing. He does not have a phone. Can you pair 2 units with the same phone, or does each unit require it's own phone to be paired with? Thanks.
@cardooutdoor8 ай бұрын
Hi Ryan! The Packtalks communicate independently from any networks, meaning that you don't need a phone - the devices talk to each other. You can connect the Packtalk to your phone to stream your music or make phone calls. In that case, each device would be connected to one phone.
@JeffLague2 ай бұрын

Hi Jeff! Sorry but you can only stream your own music. Sharing is not an option.

Can you guys please redesign this so you can charge and use at the same time? For those of us using ear buds or IEMs there’s no reason for it to be stuck to the side of the helmet. It can be hardwired to the motorcycle and sit on the handlebars where we can see the buttons. One single breakaway jack can lead to the helmet with the audio cable.

@@cardooutdoorEven outdoors it could be charged via a power bank. Power banks are small. A power bank could easily be kept on a person, in a pocket, on a bike, etc. It being an outdoor product has nothing to do with it not being able to be used while it’s charging.

How thick are the speakers that fit in the ear pockets of the helmet?
@cwardak8 ай бұрын
The speakers are way thinner than the Outdoor Tech ones. That's because they are just speakers. The main Cardo unit houses the wireless chip and battery so the speaker can stay thin. They even sound better than the new Outdoor Tech Chip 2's.

Does anyone know whether this can be used for watersports? I'd like to use these for kiteboarding or winging where the unit would be continually wet, though not deeply submerged. The waterproof specs on the Packtalk seem great, but I am concerned about the USB-C connection - is the connection water resistant (e.g. IPX6) as well? Could I set the base unit up with a waterproof speaker/mic and the whole thing would work? Thanks!
@cardooutdoor Жыл бұрын
Hi! The Packtalk Outdoor unit is IP67 waterproof, so if you set it up with waterproof speakers and mic you will be able to use it. Please note, that the JBL speakers that come with it are not IP67.

Hello, did you find a good setup for kiteboarding ?
@Afribob214 күн бұрын
@@ThierryBourrillon971 Yes & No. I've tried it both in fresh & salt water, using a bbtalking headset (waterproof). The big issue is that you have to seal the connections to prevent water from shorting the cable. The Cardo unit is waterproof as well as the headset, but the big issue is the connector. If it gets salt water in it, it fries! I've successfully used it with a liberal amount of dielectric grease & electrical tape, but a bit of a pain to do it each time...

Picked a set of these up along with a few competitor options. I have to say, the sound quality is unparalleled. It's amazing. I loved these, but am having problems with the mics. The user sounds so far away when communicating. I've moved the mic around all over the chin strap, but it doesn't seem to have an optimal position to make the communication clear. I'm having a hard time believing you guys nailed everything out of the park, but the voice. Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this further?

does the outdoor version have any real difference or lack of features when compared to the packtalk neo or slim? Seems like those get a further distance range but do they have any other features that the outdoor doesn't?
@TrillasAdventures Жыл бұрын
also would either of those products be compatible with a sena 20s
@cardooutdoor Жыл бұрын
Hi! The difference in range stated is due to the environmental differences between roads and the outdoor (there are more obstacles in the outdoors like hills and trees that can reduce the range). But it is based on the same DMC technology as the motorcycle Packtalk product line. The other differences are mostly about the form, attachments and button configurations. Packtalk Outdoor is not compatible with the Sena 20s.
