i feel like if this would be a real thing the rings would be more spread out or have a different sound (less earache) and the physics would be like the boss fights in pacman championship edition 2. Pacman would have a small jump dash/homing attack (homing attack that just attacks something not launches pacman into the air) as a homage to the sonic homing attack. There would be some gravity mechanics in play to where, unlike chamionship edition 2, you can't just suddenly jump as high as possible and reach another part of the maze easily and the jumping physics would be more akin to a regular platformer. One of the things that I feel would most obviously change is the level layout. Instead of a level being perfectly linear there would be little branching paths to collect more rings... and why would you collect rings? Because instead of those trap doors that suddenly open, there would be a door with a ring counter on it that only counts down when you are near it, depositing rings into it. This would work EXACTLY like pac n' roll. Overall if this idea were made into a real thing it would be much different from the sprite animation (emostly due to the fact that pac man can basically float and eat rings, this could possibly be changed to a light speed dash to reach hidden areas) but SPRITARS is on the right track.
