Es sencillamente enfermizo lo que hizo el maestro. Y concuerdo con uno de los que acá opinan. Yo estudie guitarra clásica y los logros que este hombre realizo en la guitarra con esas escalas endemoniadas, técnicas nuevas no solamente para el Flamenco sino la guitarra en cualquier genero en general son sublimes. Les doy un ejemplo. El dedo meñique desgraciadamente la academia no lo recomienda para la ejecución ya que se dice que es dependiente de las articulaciones del anular, pero Paco tiene compases en los que en su totalidad utiliza el meñique. Igualmente cuando el graba "Cositas Buenas" ya estaba depurando una nueva técnica del toque Flamenco con armonías y ligados sorprendentes y con el uso diferenciado de las cuerdas para no rasguear sino obtener sonidos diferentes en casi todos sus compases, parecía una orquesta, increíble. Así como la mezcla con otros instrumentos. Mucho de su crecimiento fue mantener las raíces de donde provenía e incluir la influencia entre otros del jazz y blue. También le gustaba escuchar música de otras latitudes para aprender de hecho estuvo hasta probando con música Celta, que recuerdo bien y hasta música Japonesa e Indú. Quien no recuerda su album "Dos Guitarras Flamencas en Latinoamerica", eso fue todo una locura y nos marco a muchos. El es el mejor guitarrista que he escuchado y será muy difícil que alguien lo supere es como el Paganini en el violín y sumele a eso que era compositor. Espectacular.

Paco hubo uno solo, sin duda. Pero, fuera de los rasgueos, no usaba el meñique. Tengo estudiadas muchas obras del genio y lo conocí personalmente (afortunado yo, jajaja). Por supuesto que el meñique sí se utiliza en alguna técnica de rasgueo, tanto en flamenco como en otros estilos. Como dato algo curioso, Gerardo Núñez (otro fuera de serie), en su video instructivo, dice que él no usa el meñique para rasguear y no tiene problemas (bueno, ahora sí tiene problemas, pero por otro motivo, lamentablemente). Ya es bastante sabido que quien ha usado en sus trancripciones (repertorio "clásico") el dedo meñique es Kazuhito Yamayita, pero en casos específicos, como en algunos armónicos, etc...Por lo menos, hasta el momento, en la guitarra de 6 cuerdas, pareciera que no habría que "preocuparse" demasiado por el meñique...jeje. It is very unfortunate for all those living this generation, who have started giving their heart and soul, the coming flamenco artists... They could never or will be able to meet and see paco live.... Those who are passing the tradition and techniques after meeting Paco once in their lifetime.... It's full of sadness to see him now in just KZbin and think of his agressive speed and knowledge in Flamenco.... It's our mistake to even say that "No one ever will be like Paco" because everyone has got their own skills, but one can not disagree that anyone who has started Flamenco are always one step back... Whether they are dancers, singers or guitarists... People want to learn more and more... But when we see this, it just amuses me and force me to think we are not even born... Actually the Spanish flamenco community found a way to feel offended and humiliated by the Paco's superior playing and refused to accept him as a flamenco guitar player. They claim that what he's playing is not a flamenco music but jazz:) Poor Paco was suffering for a whole life because he wasn't accepted as who he is, the greatest flamenco player ever. This was hurting him emotionally and weakened his heart and he died at 62 years of age by his heart broken.

xcaluhbration Yes indeed. The more i see these few video's that were released not long after he's death the more amazing i find him to be as a self composing player! Was just studying a section at 4:05 and what happens right after the last note of that fast picado but every time i loop it the more i burst in laughter because of disbelief. Haven't figure it out yet cause it's to fast, but listen closely. The whole thing is just unmatchebly incredible!
