It is an old man wanting to reconquer Granada occupied by the Moors and liberated after 780 years How far by seas, fields and mountains Already other suns look at my white-haired head I have never seen Granada (bis) My white haired head The lost years I want the old, erased tracks I have never gone to Granada (bis) Give a green branch of light to my hand A short briddle and a long gallop I have never seen Granada (bis) What enemy people populates its walls ? Who the clear, free echoes of its airs? I have never gone to Granada Come, those of you who have never been to Granada! Ay, fallen blood, blood that calls me I have never entered Granada (bis) Ay, fallen blood of the best brother Blood by the myrths and the waters of the patios I have never seen Granada (bis) If high are the towers, high is the courage Come by mountains, seas and fields I will enter Granada (ter) === It is a litteral translation not one trying to make thetext beautiful: for instance cabeza cana by white-haired head instead of white hair. Also I have translated Spanish preterits by the form I have.. (eg I have never seen) instead of English preterits because in English they are not as natural

What a distance by the seas, the fields and the mountains! Already other suns look at my gray head. I have never been to Granada. My gray head, the lost years. I want to find the old fuzzy roads. I have never seen Granada. Give me a bouquet of green light to my hand. A short curve and a long gallop. I never entered Granada. Which enemy people populate their adarves? What are the clear echoes of his tunes? I have never been to Granada. Who today his gardens imprison and put Chains for your suppliers? I have never seen Granada. Come those who have never been to Granada. There is blood fallen, the blood calling me. I never entered Granada. There is a drop in the blood of the best brother. Blood for myrtles and water courses. I have never been to Granada. Best friend, by the myrtles. Blood for the Darro, for the blood of Genil. I have never seen Granada. If the turns are large, the value is high. Come by the mountains, by the seas and the fields. I'm going to enter Granada.
