The Nayika comes looking for Krishna, her childhood friend cum lover. She tells him that she was married off to a guy when they were really young and that she has to leave the town with her husband. She pleads to take leave of him and that, he should not forget their love.
She says, “How does it matter if you and me are as far as the sun and the lotus? You shall forever remain in my heart and I shall not lose courage.” She cries her heart out and bids him a goodbye.
