Hello. I'm leaving a comment! I'm going to visit England soon. I arrive at Paddington Station by express from Heathrow Airport. If I go up to the second floor from Paddington station, can I find the hammersmith and city line right away? Or is it faster to go to the underground escalator?

I realise my comment is a little late so you might already have gotten info on this, but it should be possible to get to the northern footbridge over the tracks from the Express trains. You would exit the mainline station from the station entrance/exit shown straight ahead in second 6 of this video. From there you'd simply go through the tube ticket barriers and downstairs. This gets you to the Circle as well as Hammersmith&City Line heading towards Hammersmith and King's Cross directions (both lines, both ways). If you seek to go further into Central London instead, taking the Bakerloo or Elizabeth Line nearby might work better instead. The Circle and District Line trains can take you further south westward from the tube station at the southern end of Paddington and otherwise just bring you to Edgware Road, where you would have to change to a different service.
