Bloody hell Patrik more snow. I was out today in the Hot hot sun. Great information buddy, it's funny we have been say this to each other for a few year now and warming new paddlers. But you still get the T-Shirt gang out on the water. You won't believe what happened to me today with a jet ski, and his truck. Video coming tomorrow.

Yeah, crazy. I literally saw a kid running around on land in a t-shirt a few days ago, a bit brave with only 11 degrees C, but even so. Today, well just listen to the sound of the wind in that microphone as the snow blew by 😁 But yes, as you say, soon, unfortunately, people in t-shirts will be paddling around not really realizing how dangerous their situation is on the water. We can all help by informing as best we can. Jet skis are a bit of a paddler's nightmare - hope things were ok. Look forward to seeing the video.

Four-day weekend, four days of snow. Get to work on Tuesday, sunshine. Not impressed. Home in Oulu, the water downtown has really opened up, and as soon as I get time off and no snow, I'll be out there. Came down south to Tampere for work today, and all the lakes look solid.

Ouch, Sea temp in Ireland is 8, air temp 10. I had a bad experience where I couldn't find the release tab because I had gloves on, maybe I should try them again. Which gloves do you use?

Doesn't sound good in a pinch, indeed, when seconds are important! Gloves vary through the year, but mostly during the coldest seasons I use Camaro seamless bonding 3mm neoprene gloves, and find I have reasonable dexterity with them on.

The nice thing with kayaing - is that it is fairly simple to keep warm in cold weather. I compare it to jogging - even on cold days you are warm - after a while :)

I agree! While paddling, properly dressed, keeping warm is seldom the issue. It can rather be avoiding overheating. The logistics while standing on land can be where it can get cold.. important to have those reinforcement clothes along!

Oh yeah! I've seen a few Swedish poster referring to today's weather as a belated April Fool's prank 🙂 Seems you stole all the sunshine! You deserve it though. I'm sure we'll get some soon. The cover photo for this video is from a trip almost exactly 2 years back, as I mention briefly, where we had almost a bit of a snow storm during our paddle, and when we were on final approach to the beach and ending our paddle, the sun came out, skies cleared, and it was suddenly a perfectly calm clear spring day. @@danareed1656 Yep, that's basically just a few degrees warmer than we have here. At this point, many are probably starting to look forward to a few months from now when it's warm and sunny and early summer!
