i agree! Tradition is like an idol but we (special western buddhist) have to create our own way to practice dharma. In the ancient times Buddha don't allow music for monks. today it's for the most people not possible to practice like an monk, so is this a good way to connect mankind with buddhism and Buddhas teachings.

You can chant when ever you like . But most of the people chant during morning and evening prayer time. You can chant one time,two times ...according to your time management . All sentient beings they see, hear or remember this mantra will be established definitively in the ranks of men and female holders of awareness. In the event that these words of truth of the Vajra Guru Mantra do not lead to sentient beings what I want to get as promised, then I Pema Jungne, I'm really deceiving beings sentient. But I have not deceived you, so you should practice according to my instructions. Even if you are not able to recite the mantra for any reason, you should put it on top of the flag of victory, so when the wind touches it, and that wind touches sentient beings, deliver them, without doubt. Alternatively you can write on clay or carving in stone. This way you will protect path on which these syllables are placed and will protect the region from the effects of evil. You can also write this mantra with gold ink on dark blue paper and wear it as an amulet. When you die, if this amulet is burned with your body, you will see the rainbow and your consciousness will be transferred to the realms of Supreme Bliss. The benefits of writing it, read it or recite it defies precise term for comparison. After you have determined these things, for the future benefit of sentient beings, I will hide this Treasury. It is said that the twelve syllables Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum carry the entire blessing of the twelve types of teaching taught by Buddha, which are the essence of His Eighty-Four Thousand Dharmas. Therefore to recite the Vajra Guru mantra once is the equivalent to the blessing of reciting.... or practicing... the whole teaching of the Buddha.

reality can not be explained by words. our true nature is called rigpa, the clear, non-dual, self-luminous, ever unaffected, changeless, space-like, self aware presence or consciousness or awareness - whatever we call - where every phenomena, every thought, every emotion is just the free play of emptiness and the inner light or bliss. not easy to speak about the approach of dzogchen, but many masters did it much more clearly tha i could :) check the first hit for: "keith dowman eye of the storm"
