Underachieve? What do you expect with nine starting pitchers dealing with injuries? How many teams can have three allstar pitchers miss the vast majority of the season and still be tied for the best record in baseball? The Dodgers have a better rotation on the IL than any rotation in all of baseball. 1. Ohtani (allstar) 2. Glasnow (allstar) 3. Gonsolin (allstar) 4. Kerahaw (allstar) 5. Stone (just missed making the allstar team)

@@sdfan44 Dodgers will likely be the number 2 seed. So to meet in the playoffs the Padres would have to win a 3 game series than a 5 game series against Philly. And the Dodgers have to win a 5 game series. Odds are 90% they dont meet in the playoffs unless the Dodgers are the #1 seed.

Even though the Padres likely won’t win the division if, they can avoid bad luck in the three game wildcard they should be the favorites to win the World Series. And I say that as a Dodgers fan. They have done everything they can to make themselves a true title contender for 2024 in 2025 and the Dodgers have been absolutely obliterated by injuries. After 2025 the Padres are obviously going to be one of the worst teams in baseball unless the owners change their hard stance on no luxury tax, but until then they’re legit title contenders. And they should have bigger aspirations than simply just beating a injury plagued Dodgers team
