What really worries me, is if Robert Suarez tries to change anything major at this point of the season. In my opinion, he should just keep on doing what has made him dominate this season. All the way through. One strike away from winning the game, our best reliever is Robert Suarez and I trust him in these situations. He’s just going through a bit of a rough stretch.

I was there last night and pandemonium broke out! We were all on our feet waiting for that last strike and needless to say the ballpark was stunned, but we didn’t quit! Bogey had a big single to keep us alive and then again the whole ballpark rose to our feet in hopes of witnessing more Merrill Madness and we just came up short. It is what it is, you tip your cap to the Tigers and you move on. These games are tough to swallow and they’re going to happen, but the best part is that we added Tatis back into the lineup, Diaz looked good behind the plate as well as in the batter’s box and we took 2 out of 3 and won another series. Brush it off and lets take game 1 tonight vs the Giants!

The Pads truly need to build a cushion on the Mets or Braves now, before going into those 6 games at the end of the month against AZ and LA. I’m not as confident as Jim that they are a lock for the playoffs.

Padres are 18 games over .500 and leading the Wildcard. Less than a month to go and it feels they are fighting for their playoffs lives. Crazy to think a wildcard team would have to be nearly 20 games over .500 to be in the mix!

Padres should consider using Scott and Suarez in closing role moving forward. Suarez has gotten away with some shaky outings. Finally caught up with him last night. No excuse for losing that game. It was all on Suarez.

Technically, the Padres are 2 games ahead of the Mets and 4 ahead of the Braves due to the tie-breakers.

Suarez has thrown other pitches before. He could throw more change-ups , cutter, or slider away to throw off batters. 95% fastball just doesn't cut it when everyone is sitting heater. Good hitters are gonna make contact, and they have been.

Sh*t happens , get decent contact on ball at 102 mph , it's gonna go out. That being said, this is a Wild Card team. All that talk by some last week of catching the Dodgers was myopic and a tad ridiculous. BTW- Almost Every managerial decision BoMel has made for Giants this year has not gone well..its been a nightmare, juggling lineups like crazy, bad bullpen decisions,etc. Ty for content!

History has said batter take awhile to catch up to pitchers….early this season Suarez has blown away hitters with his fastball earlier this season. But now hitters have caught up he needs to change it up

Should've left Scott in... might need to look at making someone an alternate closer... I've said for weeks...Suarez needs to make other pitches, everyone can hit the fastball in MLB.
