Repin is an extraordinary violinist. To play Paganini with this lightness is simply divine. One should know that Paganini had a genetic particularity like no other violinist-composer. His fingers were much longer as normal , therefor he wrote pieces that are out of reach for a normal human - violinist. But not for Repin, he just adores it , masters it , plays with it. Worthy heir to the great Paganini. Thanks so much for this outstanding upload.

@@williamderosa8947 I might have to defend Joker here: Vadim Repin is one of my absolute favorite violinists and I think probably the most underestimated among really great players. And he’s also an immaculate musician. In this recording, though, speaking purely technically he’s out of HIS own shape a little. Many of his recordings have the same charm and musicality with more accuracy in purely “digital” matters. If that’s what the Joker meant - he is right.
