The Studio Tour makes me miss back lot tour at Hollywood Studios and Earthquake at Universal Studios Orlando. There’s just something about them that was purely magical!

Part of why the views are so good is that the escalator walk used to have a couple of smoking areas. They were eventually removed leaving just a bunch of wide open viewing platforms for guests to enjoy (it's not a huge loss to smokers as re-entry is usually quick and there's still smoking spots within a 2 minute walk from the entrance).

The backlot ride was amazing. This is what Disney World Hollywood Studios should have and doesn’t anymore. Hollywood studios used to show you how movies were made. Now they just show you what movies Disney has made. I miss the golden years of MGM Studios.

I’ve always loved the backlot tour. I actually went one time as a kid to universal Hollywood and it was amazing, thanks for the memories. I’d buy another wand why not? I used the express pass on new years week of 2020; Park was packed. And the passes worked like magic never had to wait for anything which was amazing considering they were at max capacity. One of the best Park experiences you can get. Great video thanks for sharing with the public.

We went for the first time last September for Hollywood HHN. I LOVED the Studio Tour more than anything else! #2 for me was Waterworld. And YES! It was much less crowded then too. I think LA parks get more local traffic opposed to the tourism that drives Florida. Lots of strange similarities to Orlando but largely different and a unique experience all around! Glad you liked it too!

Wow, they really changed Jurassic .. i had a pass to Universal back in the 90's and went on the first version of Jurassic Park.. not working dropping car. LOL. i also saw the backlot and the King Kong ride that they lost to fire many times.. Nathan- i had terrible allergies and sinus headaches when i lived in the Valley, the smog and just the unfamiliar pollen i think. in fact the morning i left i drove with a headache until i got to Arizona. seeing the changes in the years was awesome.. glad you got to see Disneyland too.. i really was surprised how much fun as an adult it was to experience it.. Thanks

I was born and raised in California, but moved to Florida to work for WDW so your California vlogs have been bringing me back so many memories of my childhood! It has been years since I have been on the Studio Tour, but that used to be my favorite thing at Universal Studios Hollywood. I recommend you come back for Halloween Horror Nights and do the Studio Tour. It's creepy 😬. I also think a lot of people are confused between the Universal Studios in Hollywood vs the one in Orlando because the Orlando one is built strictly as a theme park with a ton of rides, but the one in Hollywood is still a working studio with a theme park built around that, so it's geared more towards that versus your typical theme park.
