The song was originally recorded by Jatileswar Mukhopadhyay in 1962.The current orchestration is slightly modified compared to original song. Lata Mangeshkar also recorded Hindi version for a film ,probably Rajnigandha, acted by Amal Palekar and Vidya sinha in 1974.There also great composer Salil Choudhury slightly changed the orchestration .Great song. Subir Sen's voice is very romantic. I am, however, of the view that It is Jatileswar Mukhopadhyay who emitted the real essence of the song. Thanks to all.
