Corsets have shape. Even when placed on a flat surface, they should resemble the shape of a person. This is best for a boy/man/woman with no bust or significant hip to waist/bust to waist ratio.

Did you have to go over the seams on the two outside panels since there’s no channel made? Since the top and bottom layers are not stitched together on the seam line? If that makes sense lol

I topstitch everything and on the back pieces where the eyelets go I add another seam on each side and slip my boning in! then the bias tape goes on the bottom.

Technically this isn't a corset. Corsets don't have shoulder straps and are shaped to the wearer's curves so you'd never be able to lay them flat. These are stays.

Exactly. You said it " BUSINESS" So would you If it was part of your " BUSINESS". Nava rose has an excellent pattern..... it's free as she chooses it to be free. Totally different construction..... Sometimes free may not give you the same result!😊
