Oh boy. I didn’t even think about back pain but makes total sense. I have a sensitive lower back. My DIEP surgery is booked for July 9. God help me.

Barely a week post-op, incisions barely bother me but rhe lower back pain from pulling in my abdomen and putting extra stress on my back from arm mobility restrictions is HORRIBLE. My doc warned me but its uncomfortable and i know it will get better over time and as im able to stretch and move more.

I just had DIEP flap last week. For me it was because it’s a long term solution, less risk of infection, no risk of implant illness, feels more natural than implants.

I’m a breast cancer survivor, I had bilateral mastectomy and just recently had my reconstruction with implants. I have been having a lot of back, shoulder, and back of my neck pains.

I dry needles it and did myofascial release. I waited 12 weeks to dry needle
