As a kid, 72 years ago, I used to sit on the front steps of the Courthouse and wait to ride home with my aunt, who worked in the County Auditor's office. The statues of Cain and Abel scared the heck out of me whenever I looked up at them. I lived in Painesville until I was 20, when I went into the US Navy. I moved to California in 1970 but still have family in Painesville.
