"Bindi bucket!" just rolls off the tongue.😁 We mustn't forget, "Sherni(R.I.P) bucket" was the original.🙂 Bindi is just a natural hunter seeing her in action ratting. She has the prey drive, focus, commitment and determination to the task at hand. Of course, Gypsy, Leia and Boss are great examples for her to follow and learn from.

She had her Dad come see the chicken coop a few weeks ago and apparently he put those on there and didn't let her know so she didn't know what they were.

Accidentally teaching Bindi to not fight over rats early on was perfect. Better that she learned at a malleable age when she is smaller and less able to hurt another dog, than have to worry about injury later. Not that I think Bindi would intentionally do harm, but her possessiveness is a force to be reckoned with, lol 😂

You’re getting too old for that fence jumping. You would be out of work for weeks with a torn tendon or a punctured lung. Be careful and let those dogs do the scrambling.

I love how well-behaved and well-trained the dogs are. They even deposit the rats into the rat bucket for you--now that's service! You are incredible at what you do, & I love your wife as well. So on a job like this you aren't able to feed the rat meat to any animals correct? Do you ever worry about the possibility of something you catch being poisoned before you kill it? Raccoons, Muskrats, and stuff that live a bit more detached from homes and businesses have less chance but I was wondering how you go about keeping track of where you got what meat. If you grind in big batches or smaller sized ones. Bigger would lessens individual risk but it could also contaminate a load of meat or potentially mean you have to throw out a whole stock cause you don't know what is causing illness I'm just curious.

Anytime I catch rats in a residential area, all the bodies go in the garbage. I only use rat bodies from areas that are remote enough we don't have to worry about what the neighbors are doing.

For some dogs zero training is needed, i had a little patterdale (like the little black terrier with the green collar) and he was an amazing ratter and he never received any training

It's bizarre how these farmers just leave food out for the rats. I do not understand why they don't take precautions. Some of these farmers are 2,3, or 4th generation. I do not understand the corruption and incompetence. Many of these farms look like junks yards with the old car batteries, tires, and rotten wood. I always had a tendency to sympathize with the farmer, but I do not know the details. Some of these farms should be shut down as environmental hazzards.

Also, I asked about why most of your dog's are female. Now, I see you left Boss behind because the females are in heat; so, am I to infer that all your female dogs go into heat at the same time? I'm guessing probably not; but, why do you not have all make dogs instead of mostly female dogs? I don't get it and I don't understand.

From the title, I was thinking you probably hand grabbed a rat and got badly bitten. I wasn't expecting a tumble off a fence. That looked extremely painful and I could hear it in your voice, but in true Mink Man fashion, you were up and going again when the rest of us would have been lying there wailing (once we caught our breath after the fall). Thanks for letting us know it wasn't a bad injury. I bet having little girls that like to cuddle and hug you was pretty torturous for a few days afterwards though lol. So glad that the home owner could get some relief from having your team. Even just seeing the dogs catch and kill 5 when nothing else she'd been doing had been effective had to have been amazing for her.
