Paint a wine glass with epoxy resin!

Epoxy resin and cup turners are not just for stainless steel tumblers! Use epoxy resin to take an ordinary wine glass and turn it in to something special. After all, wine tastes better in a pretty glass!

1. Liquidy Split fast set resin
2. Liquid resin dye in turquoise
3. I didn’t use their white waves but wish I had!

1. KingBaas 4 cup turner
2. Seisso turquoise blue mica powder 50 ml
3. Youdiyla 80 pc antique silver alloy turtle charms (I snipped the loops off with wire cutters)
Don’t forget your gloves and to ventilate your space! I had my fan going, and my studio doors were open.

great work! I have found that the resin is slipping down the stem...what are you doing to prevent that...I do live in an ultra warm climate (Costa Rica) so not sure if that is the issue - I thought about rubbing vasaline around the bowl base

Thank you! A thin resin will do that, because the spin of the glass pulls it down to the stem. I use a fast set KS Resin Liquidy Split and I generally don’t have that issue. If you are using a thin resin, maybe let it sit up for 30 minutes?

Resin is perfectly safe! I use KS Resin, and it is food safe.

Is it safe to use epoxy on wine glasses? Ive heard that it isnt but cant find any real information out there.

The resin I use, KS Resin, is food safe. I resin on the outside of the glass, and often do not resin all the way to the top. it’s Incidental contact at best.

That is a rally great question and i plan on addrsssing that in a future video. This info is straight from the KS Resin web site: KSRESIN products are FDA Compliant (FDA 21 CFR 175.300) when accurately measured, thoroughly mixed, and fully cured. Please review and follow our instructions closely. We do not recommend using cured epoxy resins with alcohol (e.g. shot glasses, wine glasses), for hot foods, or for use on cutting boards. I use the resin on the outside of the glass, and curate them for several weeks before I sell them at an art show. I have full confidence in this resin.
