In this video, we'll look at some watercolor overlap techniques, pencil and pen embellishments and a fun way to make a cute, whimsical heart.

✏️ Supplies Needed ✏️
I have only provided specific links for the things that can't be found at any art/craft supply store, and I do not get commission on anything I recommend - these are just the supplies I love.
Paper: I usually use Strathmore 400 acrylic paper, but for watercolor, any watercolor paper will work.
Pens: Love Sharpies, but generally any waterfast pen will work (Sakura Pigma Micron pens are excellent and don't smear with water)
Watercolor: My most used sets are Josie Lewis and Art Philosophy Co. Watercolor Confections sets - I used Josie Lewis in this video.

Tape: I prefer Washi tape 1" wide - generally available at any art/craft store, but you an use painter's tape as well.
Eraser: Because people ask! :) I love the Pentel Hi-Polymer white erasers
Paint Pens: I showed them at the beginning, but didn't end up using them - Posca paint pens - generally available at most art stores.

I love this heart.... I have also just bought some of those erasers. I bought them off Amazon.co.uk, they were £2.99 for 5 jumbo sized erasers. I have wanted to know what kind of erasers these were for so long ...... they seem to work so well...

How did you mix the paints that are in the cup?

Hi Melinda!! In a nutshell, I put about 1/4" of water in the cup. Then wet my brush with the water in the cup. Then swirl my brush in the paint to pick up the color. Then swirl it back in the water in the cup and continue until you get the color saturation you desire. In the video at about the 5:46 mark you can see - I show you how. :)

Did you say that you can use acrylic paints on this paper?

Yep - you certainly can! I would still tape it down to something solid while you paint, but it will take acrylic paints.
