I loved the paint when it was hanging in the air for that short time when the camera was shooting on the spinning rig, it was amazing. If you could repeat it and somehow keep it as a 3D piece of art it would definitely be bought or put into some art display.

In short, your brain takes a little bit longer to process darker images, so the frame delay this causes and the constantly moving camera makes it like you're viewing a 3D video. It only works if your camera is always moving.

Love these videos, but I do agree with a lot of other comments saying it needs to be slower. I don't really get the camera logistics of it all, but having it shoot at 2000 frames instead would be awesome!

I'd like to see their technical analysis explaining how/why the camera arm was setup that way and what other options were considered but rejected. (periscope flex too much? better damping vibration/noise from mounting at the end of the rotating mechanism? lower complexity better for production planning? etc.)

I think that the issue is that the slower they go, they have to lower the resolution even more, so If they are recording in 4K probably that is the slower they can get...I think, I'm not completely sure

Can only record so many pixels a second. So they can either record larger pixels (lower resolution) for more frames; or smaller pixels for more detail but at a lower FPS.

Any time there's liquid or fine particulates involved, the algorithm's wrinkles come through pretty strongly. This isn't bad, but it's very distracting to see the pulsing, shimmering, and pixelation that results from compression. There's no good way around it, unfortunately, since publishing uncompressed videos isn't really feasible for YT.

Thank you for the video. I think you can always have a higher frame rate. It is awesome seeing something in slow motion that wouldn't be able to be seen otherwise. This paint looked so fantastic, I could watch more. :-)
