I think I might have used the mirror on the inside then the cane on the outside. That way a lady could still check herself by opening the door & having the mirror. Love the colour you chose. Beautiful. 🥰

Wonderful color. Color lab sounds like a great way to get Dixie Belle's paint in a color that you may have seen and fell in love with from the paint store. Dixie Belle has so many colors to choose from now. I've only begun to use my favorite colors from their color lineup. So many to choose from. You seem to have a good eye for the right color to put on a specific piece of furniture.

Thanks for testing out roller application and sharing your pros/cons for the various methods. That’s a gorgeous color and cane insert. Love the knobs but might have used painted knobs on the top drawers to make it less busy.

I love the custom color and I do like painting a piece than rolling it. I have tried rolling chalk paint but end up using the brush over it to get rid of the orange skin look. I just used Stormy Seas on an end table because of you. 😂 this color is so pretty. I used Katie Scott’s technique in her “How to Create a Linen look on Furniture” with the broom head. It was so easy and forgiving. This is my 4th piece this week and I’ve used all Dixie Belle paint. It’s really that good. I can’t seem to stray away. I love this color too, I’m with ya on the mirror….turned out beautiful.

I am always embarrassed to tell people I use a roller lol. It’s faster and I paint in between running my at home childcare business and being a full time mom. But I figured out a way to minimize the orange peel look I feel (or maybe I just need better lighting lol). Loved the piece! Makes me want to go finish my piece now!

Lovely color choice with explanation about how to create custom colors! I appreciate your experiment w/the roller and your analysis if finish (orange peel); I've found rollers more work & equipment/steps and still needed to use a brush as you did. Finally, lovely choice of color, trim color & cane combined into a beautifully redone piece I would buy!! The burgundy interior was a nice complementary color to your sage green as well!
