Best video painting tutorial I've seen in a while. Short. Concise. Completely devoid of narcissistic rambling and heavy on useable, knowledgeable content. 11/10.

Very very good video. You teach me in clear and simple mode. I´d love the " two different methods" Questions: - at minute 1:36 write "diluite white glue" did you means vinyl glue? - could you please qualify the percentage of dilution? I am a beginner Grazie - Thanks

I am debating between using the terrain paste method with some resin to make water bases, or going with lava. The terrain paste look might also be super nice with the crackle paint down the middle too! So many choices.

Have to ask - for method 1, when applying the Ardcoat and the mordant earth, did you allow the prior layer to dry completely or apply 1 after the other (as in did the glue dry before the ard coat and then the ard coat before the Mordant Earth)

That terrain base, if painted in blues and blue-brown at the edges, pale grey at center, then glossed over with varnish, might also look like rushing water. Everyone does smooth. flat water, but the exact texture here might look a lot like turbent, rushing water. What do you think?☺🌊

Do you need to seal the crackle paint at the end in any special way or will regular varnish work?
@bilzander2 жыл бұрын
I use a light watered down PVA to seal it. I would 100% recommend sealing it, even with the white glue base it can peel off, especially if you carry your models with foam.

@RenatoT-si7vv Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your video, I bought the paint but it doesnt look so good, the cracks are kind of small. I am not putting a glue layer in between the paint and the cracked earth paint. Yours looks so natural, thanks again for the video.

I think the 1:1 glue (Elmer's glue ?) layer after the initial paint is dried helps the cracks in the crackle paint to separate even more ?

Amazing, I will be trying the first method on my Nurgle Army, but with greens instead of reds :D Do you let the PVA glue dry, then apply the Ardcoat and let that dry before apply the Mordant Earth? Thanks!
@miniaturesurgeon2 жыл бұрын
Thats a great idea! I let the PVA glue dry first to let it form a smooth surface so the mordant earth can pull cleaner from it! Hope it helps

As some who is on a budget, let's pretend I was going to paint a 2000 point army of khorne using the 2nd method and let's say this army had a decent amount of models in it. Would you say using the astro. Texture paint is the best way to go or find something else a little more cost effective. I'm just worried about needing to buy a ton of paint pots just to make the army
