Paint makeover | Decorate with me!

Bonjour friends,
Today we will be painting in the living room and my office. If you're new to my channel... all of the walls in the home that we purchased were a lavender color. I'm painting them in a neutral white color and it is really lightening up the rooms so much. I've been really happy with how they are turning out. A friend of mine came over recently to visit and she said "wow they look like they've been done professionally."
That was so awesome to hear and such a nice compliment after all my hard work too.

I wouldn’t paint anymore inside the cabinet. Right now it’s giving a moody vibe and with the little lamps lit up, it invites one to come in to peek inside for a closer inspection of what’s inside. Hence the need to leave the small wreaths off the doors. Love the look. ❤️😊

I would agree, it looks great with the candle lights inside the cabinet and shows the decor and gives off that cozy look. I would leave the wreaths off the door as Dawn suggested too. The wreaths cover up what is inside and more difficult to see all your beautiful items that you displayed.

Painting the back of the cupboard helped brighten it upside. Instead of painting the bottom shelves, maybe try placing natural fiber placemats or even light colored fabric ones or a mix of crocheted doilies to lighten things up, maybe a mix of all three ideas. If it's too busy, maybe just one idea on each shelf. Love ❤️ the items you placed inside.

Very nice! I love little houses as well.💐 Don’t paint anymore in the cabinet. I have done the same thing in a cabinet for the same reason but my cabinet was not as old as yours. I was completely changing the looks of mine to look more antique yours already is terrific.

It looks AMAZING Jessica ❤❤ The piesafe is a gorgeous colour. One thing I did to a piece of antique furniture was cut thin ply wood that fit inside my cupboard and then wallpapered and painted it. Pressed it up again at the back and sides and that way I wasn't painting an antique and I could change the look if I wanted. Have one side in one colour and the other side in another. Love the cupboard without the wreaths but if you like it you put them up lovely 😊 xx

I have a hutch very similar but mine has glass instead of chicken wire and mine is painted white inside also. It does get dark inside, I may try the battery candles. The wreaths block the displays inside.

I wouldn’t add the wreaths they cover up what you want to see. Also maybe edit the shelves by removing one or two items. Tends to get too cluttered and the important pieces like the houses and figurines you don’t see to their best advantage.

Nice color, great job. But I can't help but think what a shame that your house is in CA. I lived there for 40 yrs. and moved out of the state. What a hellhole that state has become and I can't imagine why ppl still live there and pretend everything is fine. It's no longer the Golden State as it was when my parents moved there. OK, that's my rant for the day! LOL! Love the precious children picture. I too have a collection of sm European houses. Love the cabinet. Before painting the rest of the cabinet, just live for it awhile before deciding. The wreaths sorta block the view from inside.

Thank you! I know the state of California isn’t perfect, but we are here for the beautiful dry climate weather. We have lived in the Midwest, East Coast, and in the South. We now have a property in France as well. I have also traveled to many different states etc., and no where that I have been to has beaten the weather in California. We call it a “weather tax” and we are willing to do so. We also enjoy that you get the best of both worlds… ocean & mountains. To us it’s worth it until we can move to France permanently.⚜️

@@frenchfarmhouseflair I did see your video on France. It will be great! I've lived 45 yrs and grew up in CA, my dad was a guard at Alcatraz, so no one needs to tell me about it. We moved out and are happier here in WI. I lived in NJ, CO, KS, CA & now WI. The policies are just insane now in CA. We have 80 acres here, rural, as it will be your dream property in France, at least you do have a perfect plan. I admit I hate the cold here. LOL! But, it's better than CA.
