I've listened to this video about 10 times now, and the harmony at the beggining sounds amazing...but then again every time i've watched it i've been drunk

Woah!! I did not know he played it this far ahead! He tends to shy away from his darker ballroom songs

I love Neon Ballroom! Definitely my favourite album. I don't deny he is an amazing singer, but sometimes I hate how he uses his voice: especially live, and on the new album

@torycicciari I know he has a amazing voice, Like I said I've loved silverchair for 15 years, and I still do! I'm just saying it's different now, both live and on the albums, and I miss the way it was in neon ballroom and diorama, I wish he'd trade the synthesizers for a string section. Just a matter of preference, but nothing could EVER stop me from loving silverchair.

when i watched him sing this in vancouver in 99, I was lucky enough to get in to see their sound check, and my knees went out it was so powerful! he's still into it but it's not the same, where is the raw emotion? i love silverchair and want daniel to to giver again, scream and grunt and more like 4:27

@MsStormcrow could be that he's having fun out there these days and not concentrating on singing every note perfect. He is still an amazing singer just doesnt have the pain in his voice anymore

Daniel was definitely very tired of Silverchair...

@torycicciari Yeah I get what your saying & don't get me wrong silverchair has been my favorite band for 15 years, but it's not the same as it was, I mean diorama was positive but still amazing, emotional, and genius! and his singing isn't the same caliber as it was, it's like he's doing this weird talky singing now & not really belting it out like he used to, it seems like he's not as emotionally invested in his music and lyrics. I don't really know how to accurately verbalize how it's changed

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA Took the words right outta my mouth! I can't count how many times I've said that! Thank God Dan's voice has almost recovered. He needed this warming up time. Honestly cigarettes fucked up his voice. the "Beg you" part sounded so horrible. Ah. Love them dearly.

Most of 2006 was sort of a "warming up" period for Daniel as a singer, it seems. Listen to any of the recent stuff--he got it all back.

Silverchair 1994 - 2003, their best era was in Diorama. I think i will never like Young Modern even if i listen to it a 300 times.

He clearly struggles a little more vocally than he used to... Singing the way he did for the past 12 years will do that to your vocal chords. Frogstomp and Freak Show are clearly their worst 2 albums. Lyrically, instrumentally, vocally, just worse. Ballroom and Diorama...A+++. This performance is ok, but the performances of this song from 2002 + 2003 just blow it away.

Dude seriously needs to grow some hair back to better his image. He also needs to remember where he came from and quit trying to be a more mature band. It reminds me of when Pearl Jam was making great records, then just about everything else went to shit until they realized what the hell they were doing wrong.
