Thank you for this video ❤ I have a similar cake coming up and had no clue how to tackle the easel but I feel more better about it now!

Hello. I just found your channel because I am looking for ideas for an artist cake. This was a great idea...but what did you use to stand the easel with?
@TheRobynsNest3 жыл бұрын
I just used two large toothpicks and glued them (using water) to the fondant, than stuck that into the cake. Thanks for watching.❤

Looks good. Can you please tell what paints were you using to write “Happy sweet 16”? And what type of brush? It’s looks different than normal paint brush .
@TheRobynsNest3 жыл бұрын
For paint I use gel food colors diluted with a little bit of water. The paint brush is just a water color paintbrush, this one just came from a Chinese water color paint set that I never got to use so I repurposed them for my cakes. (I have never used real paint in them)

could you please tell me what’s that fluid thing that u used to stick all painting stands and others. is that sugar syrup??
@TheRobynsNest3 жыл бұрын
That’s just water. Not too much though, just a dab will do.

Also for “Donna May”, what did you use?
@TheRobynsNest3 жыл бұрын
For Donna May, I made a stencil, traced it onto fondant then cut out the letters using an exacto knife.
@nandababs3 жыл бұрын
Cool. How did you made your stencil?
@TheRobynsNest3 жыл бұрын
@@nandababs I find all my fonts at 1001fonts.com. I pick one I like and trace it right from my computer screen, then I cut it strategically with my exacto knife so it doesn’t all fall apart. Lol, takes a little practice but this is the quickest method with using molds in my opinion.

@@TheRobynsNest oh. Little confusing. I appreciate if you do a video on this topic 😁. I’m doing art related cake almost similar to your cake now. Your video is very helpful. Thank you 😊

@@nandababs I have been asked to do that video quite a bit actually. My schedule has been pretty tight lately but I’m hoping to get to it very soon!

Hi new to your channel. Great content. What lighting did you use for the happy bithday?
@TheRobynsNest3 жыл бұрын
Welcome! Thanks for watching!! 🥰 That would be a light tracing table, I got mine on Amazon I believe!🤔🧐lol, if memory serves me correctly. You should be able to find them at any craft store as well! Super handy to have for cake making!!

Really nice 👌!! What frosting did u use?
@TheRobynsNest4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊 The black frosting was a chocolate American buttercream and the little paint splatters and brushes were shaped from fondant. So yummy!🥰

@@TheRobynsNest everything looks so nice and the finish look on the cake looks like fondant! Do u think I will get that finish look with Italian butter cream?
@TheRobynsNest4 жыл бұрын
@@denisseca3726 well I can't say for sure as I have never used Italian buttercream but since is it a really smooth icing I don't see why you wouldn't. I've seen and heard lots of good things about the "Pro froster" although I've never tried one before. It could be a good option to get that perfect finish!
