I have NEVER considered myself artistic. DH gave me an ipad pro for a gift and I started doodling...it's so fun, and no harm no foul, I can just delete. Then my kids gifted me procreate, and I have had so enjoyed fiddling. However, I quickly learned I needed help figuring out how to tap into the depth of what it can do. After wandering youtube and trying out MANY tutorials, I am HOOKED on Teela. Her tutorials are the BEST!!!! She is truly gifted at teaching, showing a nube how to crawl through the basics of procreate and begin to tap into a love of art and self expression. Her instructions are so easy to follow, she doesn't jump around and skip steps, as others do, and her projects are so fun. There hasn't been one tutorial that hasn't given me insight and joy. Thank you so much for making your skills available to your fans. You are a talented artist and teacher.

What a great tutorial! Wasn't sure initially I'd be able to achieve a good end result, but your tutorial makes it entirely doable, esp. with your brush set. One thing that helped me blend more easily was merging the light, mid-tone and shadow layers to one layer for a given cookie after some initial blending. That way, I wasn't trying to figure out which layer I needed to be on to blend out a particular area, and I could also clean up the cookie edges neatly (my layers never sync up totally!) Instead of lettering, I added the yellow cookie at the right side, which required a little creative interpolation :-) , but I'm quite pleased with the results. Thank you for all your wonderful teachings and tutorials!

Hi Teela! This looks awesome and totally doable thanks to your clear demonstration. I love the process of layering transparent color to gradually get the right value. I was wondering about the blending process - I'm not a fan of the smudge tool as it smears the lovely brush texture out. Is there a way to blend out while retaining the original brush texture? Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
@EveryTuesday4 жыл бұрын
Good question! Will have to play around with that and see if I can figure out a way - not sure it's possible since a smudge is inherently pushing things around, but I would love that, too!

@@EveryTuesday I just got your watercolor brush set - it's awesome! I'm trying erasing with the dense wash / soft wash brushes to keep the texture instead of smudging. Not sure it looks like watercolor or looks too digital - I'll have to keep experimenting. Instead of the eraser I also tried using a layer mask. Thank you for the great tutorials! I'm starting with the popsicle since it's easier than the macaroons.

Hey thanks so much for this tutorial! I just finished and I had so much fun although mine seems to be much dark and muddier than your. Is this from over smudging?
@EveryTuesday4 жыл бұрын
It's possible - it can be tricky not to oversmudge, but the colors can definitely get a little muddy with lots of smudging.

Hey! There's always a little bit of color inconsistencies because there's so many variables in the recording + viewing process: my recording + editing settings, the brightness of my iPad when recording and then the settings of the screen you're viewing it on. I do my best to come close, but the colors supplied are always the ones I'm using when I record 👍
