I do have a question. I live in my friend's house and her bedroom wall is black in color. How can I effectively replace a brighter color on top of the black color? I need to paint a couple of layers before the black is full covered, am I right?

@@FromHousewifeToPilot Yes, you probably will need a few coats. But even if it wasn't black, most paint jobs will require at least two coats and sometimes three in order to get an even coverage. I would recommend spending a bit extra on good quality paint. Cheaper paint typically requires more coats regardless of the colour you're using. Ask for advice in your local paint store. If you know the brand of paint the existing black was painted with (maybe your friend still has the tin in a cupboard somewhere), that could be helpful for the sales assistant in advising which paint to go for.
