It's nicer with a gold base...a much richer colour. Silver under Brandywine looks closer to candy apple. I looked at the thumbnail shot and thought it was a candy apple...or a car with only two coats of Brandywine.

What a yummy result. So, new sales tactic for manufacturers - give us an option to purchase the car in primer only and then a $2K paint credit. We then combine that with whatever is needed to get a REAL paint job from a maestro like you. Yeh, that'll happen ... 🤣

I had a 99 civic ex hatch painted in this very same exact color well twice i guess... lol funny story my close friend painted cars for yrs then ran a house oainting crew and painted it on side with no booth so he paints it & i stop when he wrapped it up and when im 5 min. Away theres massive rain cloud heading right for it while sitting outside & of course his phones not on him & damaged entire thing... it had all shaved handles & big godly rear roof wing as well as a hatch wing, but damn it looked amazing & sample doesnt do this color justic nor does video... it turned out badass but not after few yrs seems it started too fade almost like pink now if there's a way too keep it looking this way I'd do my truck in it also... As for this car damn nice job my friend it turned out killer no doubt...

My first candy job was House of Colors, candy apple red on a 78 Corvette. I sprayed it using a Binks #7. That should tell you how long ago it was. We didn't have gravity feeds back then. I had to respray the hood because a horse fly decided to do a belly flop and then go on a nature walk. Turned out great in the end though.

Candy over black will still be just black with a colored hue. You need to pick a dark charcoal type color to use or mix the pearl into the black. I've never done it as you describe "putting pearl in the candy to spray over black".

Is it easier to spray the candy in the clear with it double concentrated? Also one more question, is candy easier in a Basecoat binder like DBC than clear

you painted exactly how I would have. your panel division and walking the full length with your candy! the area we differ is your clear Coating, limiting it to 2 layers? wet sanding the 1st layer 8s risky to sand so close to the candy layer? personally I would have lightly sanded that 1st layer of clear then applied a 2nd layer and did my leveling in that layer, then a 3rd layer for the final coat. still so close to my style... solid skills!

For me this highlights what a lousy job auto manufacturers are doing with their new vehicle paint jobs. OMG. They spend millions designing a vehicle then they botch the paint job. WTH kind of marketing is this. But I know they're trying to save 10 cents here, 25 cents there... it adds up for them but makes their cars and trucks look worse than they could be.

I'm Canadian but if I was from California I would say this....Duuuuuuuuuuuude! I'm a retired painter/artist by the way. With the exception of an airbrush or touch up gun, I would rather just farm the base paint to you man. Hope you do well.

I would've removed the bumpers and did them separate with the other side parts to get guaranteed full coverage with no thin spots. Definitely should've masked off inside the wheel wells so you don't spray your suspension or well liners. That's just me, to each their own. You're definitely doing a great job though. Using top of the line shit too!

Dose it make sense to anyone to subscribe and like a video before watching it?, the act of desperation is great on youtube, i've subscribed and liked video with out the content creator mentioning any like/subscribe and you know why, it's simply because the content was great and it sparked interest. Update: the video is well done and every step of the way is explained in detail. Liked and subscribed. Only wished you would put out more/often videos, there are other people (painting wise) on youtube that put out videos often and they do better regarding subscribers.
