For lettering, I'd start by practicing drawing block letters with a pencil. For pinstriping, I would practice drawing straight lines, c curves, and s curves with a pencil. Later i would move to a brush and paint.

Hi Jack, im just wondering about the dixie cups, how do you tell if its waxed or not. And what is the downside of them being waxed? Thanks alot, love the videos

@louiebrooks8881 they should say wax free on the package or in the description if ordering online. Another popular option is the little plastic medicine cups. If they have wax, the paint will dissolve the wax and it mixes into the paint, contaminating it. This results in issues with the paint having an uneven finish (dull spots), adhesion issues, and sometimes drying issues.

I always have a problem when thinning the color. Either not enough, and it kind of streaks on me, or too much and it doesn't produce sharp corners in block lettering. I'm just a beginner, so I appreciate any advice. Did you previously thin the Ronan White paint? Thanks again!!!

@scottymakerdude3827 sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It all depends on the weather and how the paint feels in the brush. Comes with time. Keep at it.

Can I use plastic cup instead of Dixie cup?

@Krucerstattoos depends on the plastic cup. Also depends on the Dixie cups. I use the little plastic medicine cups they give you at the pharmacy. For Dixie cups, it is important that they are wax free.
