For the top/sealing coat: I would go to a specialty paint store such as Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams. They have a 'hardener" that you add to a top coat. It's made for flooring and high foot traffic areas.

I just painted a very small area in front of my fireplace that had old maroon tile. I didn’t stencil, just left it black then used the sealer, what a difference!!!!

Yes, THANK YOU!! I wanted to paint and stencil my small half bath but was so afraid. Your video was the push that I needed to just do it. Going to start next weekend. Wish me luck 🤞🏼

I have watched quite a few videos regarding painting ceramic tile and I think I have decided to go forward with it. Most of the other videos that I have watched used the Rust oleum products and I don't expect you to tell me which you think is better since I assume you haven't tried the Rust Oleum products!! I do have a question though. How and what do you use to regularly clean the floor? I plan on doing this in both of my bathrooms and my entry way. I absolutely hate the ceramic tile the builder used in my home and have wanted to replace it for a long time but I don't have the money to do anything right now so thought this would be a good alternative until I either am able to replace or I sell my house. Thank you so much for your update.

Thank you for sharing your experience with this! I saw an older video by a different vlogger who did it completely different and left me feeling questionable about her choices (which you have conveniently mentioned with your experience.) I appreciate the update too because I went to the comments on the prior mentioned video and saw that the question had been asked a ton with no responses to any. So with that.. I’m going to assume that they are ghosting the question because it probably peeled up like a sticker. 😂 So once again, thanks for sharing because you answered all my questions without me having to even ask! 😝

I’m going to do this same stencil. But opposite. I already have a black painted bathroom floor. Going to paint the stars ⭐️ white and gold!!

Love it! I actually just finished stenciling mine and about to do the polycrylic sealant! I'm curious how you applied it? Brush/roller? Thank you!! :)

Hi Dana, I brushed the grout and then foam rolled the rest. 😊

Great video! How long did you wait between applying different coats of paint ?
@DebtFreeDIY3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It's sounds a bit excessive but I waited 24hrs in between all coats. Hope this helps!

Hi. Im looking for a new bathroom floor on a budget. Would you recommend stencil/paint over peel n stick? I’m a Virgo so I’m very detail oriented and don’t know if I can handle if the paint isn’t “perfect”haha it would bother me every time I would look at it. But maybe I can try it and then put peel and stick over it if I mess it up 🤷♀️ how’s your floor holding up now?
@DebtFreeDIY2 жыл бұрын
Hi Angela, so I would say with the combination of you desiring to have a more finished/perfect look coupled with budget option peel and stick might suit you better. I'd hate for you to spend a few hundred bucks only to not like the little imperfections enough to have to purchase peel and stick in the end. Our only complaint is that now 2 years later we have one tile that's peeling. Honestly that's probably on us though for not applying adequate sealer and when we replaced the wax ring on our toilet, during the moving of it we scraped the tile.

Question: I have white tiles and just want to stencil them. Would I apply primer w/ stencil and then do all steps w/ stencil or do u really need to paint whole tile first?
@DebtFreeDIY3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cherie, that's a great question. And honestly I don't have a great answer. I think you'd need to paint the entire tile first just because I don't know what the longevity of the paint would be without primer. And I think it would be a challenge to primer with a Stencil and then realign it back up for paint. The description below has a link to Cutting Edge stencils. You might reach out to them with that question. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Never use cheap home depot and lowes paint. Use sherwin or Benjamin Moore
