So far I love this animation and have enjoyed the creative liberties the animators and writers had to take in order to adapt the material such as the way Yuan introduced himself to the group in this episode. However, I'm very disappointed that they omitted the Kratos fight in the Tower of Salvation as that fight was a turning point for Lloyd and was essential for the relationship build between him and Kratos. Still enjoying it nonetheless.

It also kills a major plot point: Kratos did not know that Yuan was the leader of the Renegades at this point in the story. Yuan says this quite clearly in the Renegades Sylvarant base when Kratos/"Chosen's Group" infiltrates to rescue Lloyd. Something along the lines of "Botta, I'm leaving the rest to you. Our plans will be ruined if he sees me." with the "he" in this case obviously referring to Kratos. Kratos discovering that Yuan was the leader of the Renegades would've been terrible news for him, as Kratos could have told Yggdrassill. Whether or not Kratos would have actually done such a thing, given Lloyd and his prior actions with Anna, are another story. Still, the general belief that Yuan wanted to keep his involvement with the Renegades a secret was trampled a bit here.

I just realized that Yuan is really hot in this! Not as hot as Kratos, but still! And oh man, the Kratos betrayal is always hard to watch either way. But I love how you could see he was still concerned for Lloyd when he looked at the tower during the fight. At this point, everything turns itself on its head with everything you thought you knew being wrong and even more to the plot to be revealed. It's such amazing storytelling!

Anime- Lloyd beats Remiel ass, doesn't fight Kratos or Ygg, and gets saved. Game- Lloyd beats Remiel ass, fights Kratos and Ygg, and they both beat his ass. Then gets saved. The differences man. But it's still a good anime.

Actually, canonically speaking, Lloyd defeats both Ramiel AND Kratos. This is confirmed due to Lloyd saying “I know you’re going easy on me” and his later skit that confirms Lloyd’s disgust with Kratos holding back on him. (This skit is shown regardless if the player wins or loses). This is also confirmed due to Yggdrasil saying to Kratos “I guess I can’t even trust YOU to defeat him…” when he’s first introduced immediately after this fight. He says this whether you win or lose, but it makes far more sense contextually should Lloyd win.
