Pretty sweet little whaler. Any left over paint can put a coat of light blue on your buddy's rims. Get him lookin sharp too

Good job! I knew you'd catch onto a spray gun if you ever got one in your hands. Awl Grip is a great paint. it covers well and is pretty forgiving. AwlCraft 2000 is also good but you can only spray it, allegedly. But they say it blends better if you ever have to repair it. I did my 28' Mako in Aqua Mist and Clipper White about 3 years ago and it still looks new.

I sprayed my 13 whaler with awlcraft 2000 Snow White and the interior with raptor liner. I love the raptor liner becaue it fills any imperfections

My last boat project, 76 Montauk Whaler, I was too intimidated by gel coat and having to spray it so I rolled and tipped paint. It looks great, but I really wish I did gelcoat. Always a next time though! Thanks for the great videos

Have you ever tried an airless sprayer like a Graco? May limit the overspray and give a good finish as well.

You don’t … you can’t gel coat over paint.. they decided to use paint instead of gel coat.

@@threeaces0333 no man, awl grip is paint buddy… he’s painting the whole boat but I believe that is topside paint and not for below the water line. He painted over the sanded previous gel coat. Now it’s paint. Pretty simple to understand

50/50 mix is primer ...awlgrip paint and awlcraft 2000 is 2 to 1 mix

Awl grip is 1 to 1, 25 percent reducer , awlcraft 2000 is 2 to 1 .

How many gallon compressor does it take to run that gun?

That was on an 80 gallon tank, but depending on what you are planning on painting, you could probably get away with down to maybe a 40 gallon, if you weren't painting a lot. But you'd probably run out of air quickly so, maybe 30 wouldn't be enough lol never tried it :)

Lol not that I know of, we just speed up the video and leave the audio alone, then cut the audio to however long the video shrunk down to lol :)
