Painting a Buffet In Green w Chalk Paint / Vintage Furniture Makeover

This week we are making over this beautiful vintage buffet. A serious piece demands a serious color, so I chose Palmetto Green by Dixie Belle! Some black and brown tones give the piece some depth and we will also create that aged feel by sanding gold gilding wax giving us a faded gold. I loved the way this turned out in the end! When my hubby and I had our first apartment back in the late 60s I had a complete 12 pc dining set given to us with a buffet identical to this. Then the kids came, a new home and real furniture. I love that you clean everything you work on - that is rare, most youtubers just slop on the paint don't bother with cleaning except maybe a lite dusting. You are neat, your brushes aren't covered in old paint up to the handle and you demonstrate that painting can be done without a huge mess. I love your channel. I'm getting ready to paint some pieces for my niece, she wants a "dark China red" color. I think I'm going with Jolie Paint Rouge. Fingers crossed.

Absolutely gorgeous! I have a piece that is almost identical in style and it had been chalk painted and waxed with dark in the details but it is not NEARLY as nice of a job as you did. I love the green color you chose as well. I am going to give Dixie Bell a try because I am just getting into chalk painting and I know nothing so your channel is wonderful for teaching us how to do thing properly. Oh gosh I love the color and look of this green piece. I have a similar table just sitting in a spare room and I am going to attempt to do this.
